is it because they seldom wear proper uniforms that nurses are no longer as popular in erotica? Not that they are nonexistent, Lit having 275 of them, but the pace seems to be declining.

When I was much younger, pre internet, naughty nurse drawings and pics ( and of course, stories) were very common.

Looking back over my many Halloween ideas, and my own story, the idea of a nurse costume got overlooked. Though a nurse plays a role in one of my stories, the fact that the title is Nun is Better is a hint that the nurse is not the real star. We could do better.

I work in an area with a large amount of hospitals. I see many nurses on a daily basis. Some are extremely hot and would be admired under any circumstances. However, most of the nurses I've seen are older, overweight and unattractive. Also, gone are the days of white stockings and white dress uniforms. The standard dress is now hospital scrubs, like orderlies wear, nothing attractive about that at all.

Perhaps since skirts and stockings/pantyhose is still the norm for offices maybe a secretary fantasy has overtaken the nurses in porn and erotica. I've read several good stories that take place in office settings. More often than not the more attractive and well put together woman I see around where I work are office personnel.

Im a nurse, and though not as traditionally a stereotype these days, it is still going strong.
Most heterosexual males that have expressed interest in my uniform or the fantasy of my uniform, do so from them in control. It must of come as quite a shock for the few to find themselves being prepped and poked, prior to invasive procedures.

Only out of the goodness of my heart, in an noble effort to alleviate your literary nurse shortage, am I mentioning the fact there are a couple "nurse" stories on my Lit list of high crimes and misdemeanors against the English language. Nurse Made and Nurse Nailed are the same story. Made is told in third person from the married white female nurse's POV. Nailed is in first person using the POV of the black orderly, also married, she meets for some after hours adultry. Best I recall they later meet in a motel and then get it going again on the ward.
