I'm hoping to go out to a nudist camp, resort, or other area that allows legal nudity. Do any of you have any nudist areas you'd recommend, especially those in or near MA?

My experience with nude areas on the west coast: I didn't like them.

Too many creeps, gawkers, and perverts lurking around to make it enjoyable. Many of them with cameras and zoom lenses. A lot of guys aggressively looking for male-male action (and no, you won't find any females looking for male-female action) but if that's your thing then more power to you. It wasn't my thing, lets put it that way.

The east coast may be different, though. If you can find an area that is privately owned/members only, to keep away the gawkers/creeps, and it's secluded enough that such people can't creep up and sneak a photo or two, then that may be your best bet. Its just a question of gaining membership.

Thank you for the heads up!

I have been a full time nudist hostess and greeter for 5 different places in the south west USA for 15 years! One is in California and the others are in Las Vegas. We screen our guests via email and a phone call. We speak to couples and do our best to screen single men. I have been to mostly couples beaches/resorts. They mostly only allow solo females. There are places (I work at one) where the M/F couple can bring a male. Yes some places are more swinger than nudist. Currently the place I am at most in Vegas is an AANR.org place.

Bottom line for me is that there will always be the gawker/creep but we do our best and I think the non public places do their best to ensure the experience is a nice one for all to attend. I personally want all my guests to feel relaxed and welcome! Just they way I want to feel when I go someplace else.

I'd always recommend private resorts for a great experience and not feeling like you get people just looking to catch a view. Mexico has some great resorts and beautiful beaches.

MA where the OP is is far from the West Coast but the concern remains.

Beaches mean non nudists will be around. It used to be a thing around the nude beaches in Northern California - which often have cliffs behind them - for people to sit up on the clifftops with expensive camera and film gear aimed at the people below...

This is actually for a very positive and easy to get behind reason: In California it's illegal to have a private beach. The entire coast is open to public access. If not for that, the entire place would have been locked down by Celebrities and tech billionaires - some of whom still try to wall off sections. This may suck for nudists, but it's good for the public at large.

Go to a private resort with no visible access to public land. And make sure they have a policy against letting porn companies film there - it doesn't take long to find porn (hard or softcore, such as that nudes poppin event) that's filmed on public nude beaches or nude resort events and you don't want to be accidentally cast as an extra in such a production when you're walking by in the background or something.

That may be true of some beaches, but not all of them, and certainly not the resorts. There, cameras are forbidden. And nobody's hitting up anybody and, if you feel that somebody's bothering you, a word to the management will usually solve the problem.

Most of the real nudists I know frown on that kind of public-beach activity, since it gives the authorities the excuse to close it down. So if you're reprimanded for that sort of display, that's why. Be cool, knock it off, and behave yourself.

Currently the place I am at most in Vegas is an AANR.org place.

Be aware, though, that most of the AANR places are not friendly to swinging. AANR policy is generally family-friendly, which means that any sex has to be done out of sight, but they don't exclude resorts that are more sex-friendly.

I think that's true of most of the resorts I've been to. (And Lisa, I'm still thinking of looking you up when I'm in the LV area.)

Those guys are probably looking for people having sex on the beach. If you're just there to enjoy the sun, you won't be targeted.

The problem is that, while the beaches are public land, nudity is generally forbidden on public land. It's up to a particular jurisdiction to decide whether they want to enforce it or not. As somebody pointed out to me, all beaches are nude beaches if there's nobody else around to see you naked.

If you go to an event like Nudes a'Poppin, you can expect that you'll be in the picture somewhere. But that's a special event. Cameras are forbidden at most events at west coast nude resorts, and the ban is strictly enforced.

I don’t have a lot of nudist “resort” experience, although I have been to nude-friendly establishments in Palm Springs with my girlfriend. One is a small and cozy converted motel called the Terra Cotta Inn (not sure if it’s still there; it’s been several years) .... it was basically a nude-friendly old-school motor inn with mostly an older & seemingly regular (returnees) crowd. They have a small saltwater pool which leads to folks being in pretty close proximity. Definitely a mellow & non-sexual vibe.

The other place was literally a converted condominium complex called Desert Sun. Definitely more upscale and inviting. They have two pool areas; one smaller & just off the side of the snack bar area. It’s quiet and great for sunbathing. The day we were there was quiet with only a few other couples and everyone pretty much kept to themselves. They had a cute young waitress who was topless and was very comfortable & pleasant. The other pool is very large and open, like any pool you’d see at a condo complex But no service or music. While there were other people of both sexes and varying ages, it was very chill with no overt sexual behavior or vibe.

I understand there are many, many gay-oriented clothing optional places in Palm Springs that are much more flamboyant and sexually charged but, being straight, I’ve never been to any of those places. I’m also told there are “lifestyle” hotels but I’ve never tried those either.

My best recommendation for the best clothing optional, public nudity experience, by far, is Black’s Beach in San Diego (between Del Mar & La Jolla). If you want sand, sun & sea (& to relax in the buff with a little visual stimulation) this location on a weekend day in August or September cannot be beat! My girlfriend & I make this scene a few times each summer & it never disappoints. ❤️

The place I was at was a public beach in California, north of Santa Cruz and about 90 miles south of San Francisco. It was just as described above: Clothing optional by local custom. Tall cliffs surrounding the beach, so it was not visible from the highway. But naturally, you had creepy camera jockeys sitting on top of the cliffs snapping pictures of the nude sunbathers below. I had gone with a couple friends who took me there (Mixed group of men and women) and yeah, we did get naked. It would have been far better if it had been a secluded private area out of sight from public view, but it wasn't the case. To cap it off, at one point some dude started following me around, and then offered me money for sex. I told him to fuck off because that isn't my scene, and even if it was- I don't know how male-male hookups typically happen in the dating scene but I have a hunch they don't typically just walk around propositioning strange guys. Especially if they are heteros who give no indication that they are cruising for sex. (And please don't take this as an anti-gay rant. I am not some desantis rightguide here. It's just...that shit is totally rude, no matter what your sexuality is.)

I did like the idea of having public access to beaches in California, though. In other parts of the country, there is this desire to just wall everything off, fence everything off, and make everything "Private Property." So great- then if you want to get naked at a private nudist club, it's easier to do so, if you are into that. But for just average beach goers, not to mention hikers, hunters, or those who just want to commune with nature- it sucks.
