very good

To say that this story was very good is an understatement. It was fantastic,it was, as Tony the tiger would say, "IT WAS GREAT". I enjoyed it very much and wanted to give five stars but for some reason it won't let me rate it, so I will say I give this story 6 stars. I hope to read more like it from you. Well done.

I just went into 4 of my stories and I can't vote on any of them. I then went into 2 other authors on my fav pages and can't vote on theirs either.

I'll send laurel a pm, I suggest everyone else who notices this do the same, maybe she'll acknowledge it.

I pm's RR because he usually has his finger on the pulse of stuff around here and he pointed out Manu is saying more "updates" are in progress.

Which generally means we get screwed for awhile as whatever he adds creates more bugs off the bat.

Maybe rather than sweeping multiple votes from one source, the system is being changed just not to accept more than one vote from a single source. That would save a lot of wheels' spinning.

It might, but I am sure another way would be discovered to multi vote. But at the moment no one can vote at all.

So anyone with a new story out yesterday or today is screwed as is any story for as long as this lasts.

But as for what they're changing, I doubt we will ever be told directly we'll just have to figure it out ourselves.

So you know, I tried to send you a million dollars today. It's the thought that counts, right?? :D

I saw a woman at the Comedy connection a couple of years back and part of her routine was about her husband giving her a vacuum for her birthday. She was pissed and he was like "you wanted one" and she said "not as a birthday gift" so finally he says "Its the thought that counts."

Later that night they're laying in bed and she goes "Pssst" and he says "What" and she says. "Just so you know, I thought about giving you a blow job"

I've had stories post in the last few days that are both receiving votes. I checked on a couple of random stories in the New list to see if I could vote, and couldn't. But since my new ones are getting votes, I'm assuming it's a come-and-go effect.

Possibly vote-fraud detection?

I am have the same problem, I am unable to vote.

I switched browsers, and discovered that when I am logged in, I cannot vote, and when I am not logged in, I can vote.

I have multiple computers connected to this network, and my IP address keeps changing due to my ISP.

I guess it's possible that some kind of vote-fraud detection is kicking in, but if this continues it is going to piss off a lot of members in good standing.

Unfortunately the feelings of the members are rarely considered in the way things are done around here.

It could be the implementation of a new feature, one that hasn't got all the bugs worked out yet.

I think it's just upgrade quirks. Better be or the 'pissed off' line will be very long.

That was my guess.

Just confirmed that the voting form works if you aren't logged in. Anyone passed along that specific piece of information to Laurel yet?

Yep, I managed to vote on one by exiting my account. The Web site is still looking out for Mr. Anonymous.

Works in Opera, because that's what I tested it in. It's the only browser I have installed that isn't linked to one of my pen names.

Guess I'll try in the others. Here's hoping I remember the passwords that I haven't had to type in ages when I go to log back in :p

EDIT: Three tries to remember one of the passwords LOL

Logging out restored the voting form for me in IE, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. Logging in disabled the voting form in all four browsers.

What's interesting is a week or so ago comments weren't working if you were not logged in so anonymous comments were on the fritz.

Now today members can't vote, but anon can. Which makes sense as the person who commented that called my attention to it, had an ID.

Regardless a big time screw job for anyone with a story out today.

Probably just a glitch in validating the voting form. It would only take a few lines of code to fix it.

I think about a lot of things. Proof positive that the thought doesn't actually count. :D

I didn't check to see if I could vote on anything, but I have about 30 more votes this morning from last night. So maybe it is right again, then again each one could anonymous.

Just checked. I can't vote logged in, but can as anon(so the first new story listed of the day got a free 5 from me)

Now even if there is a way to do it using another web browser are people going to try it? Nope.

So anonymous is the biggest issue on this site when it comes to bombing and other issues and its them that are just fine in this latest "glitch" and the people who have ID's who generally are not the trolls now cannot vote and going into day two.

Wonderful.
