Alyssa parked the black SUV in front of her friends house. Jumping out she gave the dark clouds that moved across the autumn sky a worried look. She didn't like to drive when it rained and it definitely looked like she was going to have to. But her worries blown away immediately by the thought if what lay ahead.

A weekend in her parent's log cabin in the mountains, just she and her friends. This was going to be fun and that was exactly what she needed right now after the stressful last weeks. She stepped on the porch and knocked on the door.

Clair looked out the window at the grey autumn sky. The storm clouds should have made her depressed, but she was actually excited. Alyssa would be by and minute and the trip would start!

The last few weeks had been busy as hell, and she needed the weekend away. Besides, it had been forever since she'd seen Alyssa. Phone calls and e-mail were great, but there was nothing like actually being with her friend. They'd meet the other girls at the cabin and just have a blast.

There was a knock on the door, and she practically leaped to her feet. She passed her father on the way to the door, "I've got it, Daddy." He grinned and waved her on.

Clair threw the door open and laughed, throwing her arms around Alyssa. "Oh my God, it's so good to see you!" "You look great!" She hugged her friend close, a smile on her face from ear to ear.

The two of them hugged closely. "It's good to see you again, too! And I have to say you're the usual eye candy." They kept on chattering and joking while Clair's father helped them to put her bags into the car. He waved after them when they drove off.

It was going to be a two hours drive. The cabin was quite some way up in the mountains, with the next town 15 miles away. But Alyssa doubted that their journey would be boring. She turned on the radio and stopped at an old melancholy Gary Moore tune. It somehow matched the grey sky and the leaves being blown across the street by the chilly wind.

In the car however it was comfortably warm and they were far from being depressed. "Jess and Liv called me an hour ago. There was a traffic jam on the Interstate and they will be a bit late. Jess said she already couldn't take Liv's stories about her different boy friends anymore" I said with a wink. "But I guess they'll arrive some time in the evening. We're just lucky that I got all the food." I smiled.

Clair made a face, "I don't think I could stand Liv's stories anymore and I haven't heard any of them." She shrugged in the passenger seat, "I mean, if she went for something other than her usual sleazy guys."

She looked out the window at the vivid colors of the autumn leaves, barely visible in the gloom. "Besides, it'll be nice to have you to myself for a while." "It's been way too long since just the two of us did anything together."

She turned her head back to look at her friend, trying to assess her feelings. "I can't tell you how happy I am that you asked me on this trip." "I've wanted to see you for months." "There's a lot of catching up to do."

"You look good, you know." She grinned, "I bet you've got to fight them off at the clubs."

Alyssa grinned. "Thank you, you really seem to like my looks today." she said although she didn't wear anything special. Blue jeans and a white, comfy sweater jacket over a black tube top. She had tied her hair back with a black scrunchy and now turned her head to Clair, looking her up and down. She looked great as usual. In college when the two of them had roamed the clubs nearly every other night Clair had always been the looker. She kept her body slim and fit and had a cat-like and almost gracious way of moving, like a tiger on the prowl. Therefor 'Tiger' had somehow become Alyssa's nickname for her friend. She really missed those days.

"You're right. There's lots of catching up to do. Can't believe how fast everything went after we left college. I'm at this Uni for five months now but somehow..." Her voice trailed off as she stared ahead on the road. "You know Clair, I really miss you out there in Ohio..." She shook her head to chase the gloomy thoughts away. "So it's great that we'll spend the whole weekend together." she added in a brighter tone.

At that moment the first rain drops hit the windshield...

"Who wouldn't like 'em," she said, making a great show of looking over Alyssa. "You never give yourself enough credit, girl." "Anybody would want to get with you."

Clair reached her hand over to rest it on Alyssa's arm as her mood darkened, "Hey, none of that now." "We can talk about...all that..when we're at the cabin with margaritas in hand." She sighed and leaned back in her seat. "I know what you mean though." "It's not the same without you around."

Clair had been missing Alyssa a lot since they'd left school and ended up going in different directions. She was always turning to say something to Alyssa, only to remember that she wouldn't be there. They were such good friends...but it with her absence it felt like more than that. Like she'd been missing her soul mate.

A big drop of rain splattered on the windshield. "Well,I guess its through just threatening, huh?" Another drop followed, then a few more. "Think we can make it before it gets too bad?" "The Weather Channel said this storm was going to be pretty wild."

Clair's touch sent sparks of comfort and joy through Alyssa. They had been very close, inseperable, best friends, soul-mates ... No matter how you called it. So when she had got the letter from OSU half a year ago accepting her as a piano student in the School of Music she wasn't surprised that her first thought had been to turn it down so that she wouldn't get seperated from Clair. Of course she had never told her friend and taken the chance after all.

The rain was now getting stronger and after a few minutes the wet road reflected the SUV's headlights and Alyssa had to concentrate in order to see the markings on the road. Heavy rain was nothing unusual at this time of the year but her mother had also warned her that the forecast was pretty bad and reminded her to drive carefully. "I guess we can forget about our hike... unless you brought your swinsuit that is." she joked.

Not that she would have minded. In her bikini Clair looked even better and hiking through the mountains in the middle of a thunderstorm in swim wear sounded just like one of the crazy things the two of them had been pulling off so regularly in the old days. "I just hope you brought weather-proof clothes..."

Clair giggled, "I did bring my bikini, actually." "I was hoping there might be one of those crystal clear mountain streams to swim in." "I like your idea though," there was a thunderous crash as she finished the sentence, and she jumped. "Wow, this storm's not kidding around, is it?"

"I just hope you brought weather-proof clothes..." Alyssa's face was a bit drawn, her focus completely on the road. Clair knew she hated to drive in this weather.

"Brought, yes." "Wearing right now...not so much." She was wearing a white t-shirt that said "Got Milk" across the front under a red flannel shirt she'd stolen from her dad. Her jeans were form fitting, the denim was tough but hardly waterproof. "So unless I change in the car, I'm going to be holding a one girl wet t-shirt contest once we get to the cabin."

Clair actually liked storms, and even went walking in them from time to time. There was something very cleansing about being drenched in rain water. Alyssa however, did not care for such weather, not when she was on the road. "Don't worry about it though." "We can huddle by the fire to warm up."

"Don't worry about it though." "We can huddle by the fire to warm up."

Alyssa smiled at that proposition. Relaxing in front of the crackling fire while the storm was raging outside, the rain pattering against the windows and a glas of red wine ... it was just too lovely a thought to be true. Now she regretted a bit to have invited Jess and Liv, too.

She blinked at the streams of water running down the windshield before being wiped away. What was she thinking? The way she felt right now, the tingling in her stomach when Clair had touched her... Although the two of them had been very close friends there had never been more ... attraction from Alyssa's side. Not anything like the things her thoughts implied now.

It almost seemed like the air in the car was charged with a kind of romantic electricity and with Clair's touch and all she was saying the sparks were flying. Alyssa wondered if the total joy she was feeling right now was more than the happiness about seeing her best friend again after months.

She didn't know how long she had just stared, sunken into her thoughts, driving the car almost automatically. Clair had fallen silent too but probably only because she didn't want to distract her friend. The radio was playing Toni Braxton, occassionally mixed with static interference, maybe from the rain or the near mountains. The exit from the highway came into view and Alyssa slowed down.

"Here we are" she said breaking the silence. "Now it's only thirty minutes or so but the road into the mountains will be pretty bad I guess. Are you in for a bumpy ride?"

She liked that smile on Alyssa's face, she needed to smile more. Alyssa seemed to sink into a kind of reverie, lost in her own thoughts. Clair sighed, a faint smile on her lips. You got used to Alyssa doing this; she could be so serious. "I wonder what you're thinking about," Clair murmured to herself.

They drove on for some time, but the driving rain didn't let up at all. Clair had fallen into her own thoughts as they shot through the stormy night. There was something different about this ride tonight, maybe about this trip. She hadn't felt the same ever since Alyssa left for Ohio. It wasn't the sorrow of missing your best friend, and she knew it. She was afraid of what that implied...of what it could cost her.

"Here we are" Alyssa said, breaking the silence. "Now it's only thirty minutes or so but the road into the mountains will be pretty bad I guess. Are you in for a bumpy ride?"

Clair looked ahead at the driving rain, then back at Alyssa. "You bet!" "But do you mean on the road or after we get there?" Clair winked at her red headed friend, not entirely sure why.

"You bet!" "But do you mean on the road or after we get there?" Clair winked at her red headed friend.

Alyssa grinned at Clair although she wasn't sure how to respond to that comment. She decided that it probably meant nothing. They now were driving up a narrow mountain path and small rivers were flowing down the hills, washing across the street and disappeared down the slope to the left.

Alyssa motioned over to the glove box. "Could you please have a look at the directions my father gave me? They should be on a paper somewhere in there. I'm uncertain if we have to take the second or third side road."

Clair leaned forward and tried to open the box but without success. Alyssa frowned. "Oh yeah, I forgot that it's stuck. You have to push against it like this... " she explained and guided Clair's hand. It was just a sudden impulse and she held Clair's hand just a second too long. She was sure that Clair shot her a surprised look and quickly grabbed the wheel firmly with both hands. This atmosphere was really getting to her head. She had the feeling that she needed to get away from Clair or she would lose control...

Clair's heart started to beat a little faster when Alyssa's hand stayed on hers. Her skin was soft and warm; the contact was great, but lasted only a moment. Alyssa drew her hand back as though it had been burned, and firmly gripped the steering wheel in both hands.

Clair's eyes rested on her, trying to decipher what the exchange had meant. For a moment, she wondered if Alyssa knew how she felt...and if she felt the same. Then she opened the glove box, "Okay." "The map says we take the third road."

They drove the rest of the way in silence, and Clair hated it. Alyssa was so relaxed and now she was incredibly tense. The road wasn't helping, she knew that. Once they got to the cabin, it'd get better.

Finally, they pulled up into a gravel driveway. The loose stone crunched under the tires as they pulled up to the cozy wooden structure. The cabin was nestled in a cleared spot near the crest of the ridge. It was hard to see at night, and with the storm, but the view must have been wonderful.

"Our little hideaway!" Clair smiled, nudging Alyssa with one elbow. "Now, you can relax, Alyssa." "No more need to drive." Clair shrugged off the flannel she was wearing. No need to get the warmest thing she had wet. "Why don't you go and unlock and get the place ready?" "I'll bring in the bags and food, I don't mind getting a little wet."

OOC: I'm back! Finally! The bad news is: my computer power supply blew up on thursday and I'm now pretty restricted in my net access. But I'll reply to this one to keep it alive as I really like it...

IC: The whole rest of the drive Alyssa kept telling herself 'It's nothing! You're tired, you're imagining things, there's absolutely nothing, now shut up and don't blow the weekend...' Over and over she had thought it and again and again the little voice inside told her that there *was* something indeed.

When they finally arrived at the cabin Alyssa was more than relieved. On the one hand the driving through night and rain had really worn her out and on the other hand driving the last bit in silence had been quite irritating and she was sure that they could go back to 'relaxed mode' now.

"Why don't you go and unlock and get the place ready?" "I'll bring in the bags and food, I don't mind getting a little wet." Clair suggested. Alyssa gave her a thankful smile. Rolling her neck and flexing her muscles she shivered at the thought of standing in the rain and unloading the car. So she agreed, grabbed her purse and jumped out into the rain. The chilly wind tousled her hair and the freezing rain washed over her. With a few quick leaps she was at the front door and fumbled the key from her bag.

The air in the cabin had the stale smell of unused furniture. The cabin mainly consisted of a large living room with a fireplace, a large comfy sofa and a kitchenette in one corner. There was a door to the small bath and another one to a bedroom. The plan had been for two of them to share the bedroom while the others would sleep on the extendable sofa. Thinking about it Alyssa felt the wish to share the bed with Clair but the implications of this made her think that it would be better if they slept in seperate rooms.

At that moment her mobile phone rang. She took it from her purse and answered the call. Liv's voice was barely audible and Alyssa noticed that she had only minimal reception maybe due to the remote location and the thunderstorm. The clapping of the thunder and the pattering of the rain made it even harder to understand Liv. "Alyssa.... bad weather and we .... washed out...." Even though Liv seemed to be shouting into her phone Alyssa couldn't understand more than fragments and after a short moment of silence the connection broke.

"What was that all about?" Alyssa turned round with a start. Clair stood in the front door, clutching the last two bags. The rest of their luggage stood beside the door, apparently unloaded while Alyssa had been checking the cabin, lost in her thoughts. Clair looked absolutely stunning. Her wet blonde hair sticking in strains to her forehead and temples, water dripping from her nose and chin and her soaked clothes leaving no curve of her body to imagination.

"That was Liv." She stammered. " But I couldn't understand a word. Could be that they can't make it up here with the storm and all..."

Her voice trailed of. Clair had an uncertain smile on her face and Alyssa couldn't keep her eyes from wondering over her friend's body. She could see her nipples through the wet t-shirt and knew at the same time that this could be a moment of truth or of denial...

(OCC: YAY! I'm so glad to see you back. Sorry to hear about your computer. I like this thread too, and I'm really happy that it can keep going.)

Clair and Alyssa leaped out of the SUV at the same time, Clair letting out a muted shriek at how cold the rain was. "Eeeek, God damn!" As Alyssa ran under the cabin's porch and was inside in a few leaps, Clair stood in the rain for a few moments. She spread her arms wide, lifting her head. The cold water rushed over her, and she breathed deeply of the cold mountain air. It was as though the rain and the air were pulling the anxiety and dirt of her life from her, washing it all away. "Whatever will be, will be," she whispered to the wind. She was clean.

She unloaded the SUV two bags at a time, grabbing them and sprinting to place them inside the cabin door before they got wet. Within two trips, she was soaked completely, and chilled to the bone. However, she felt strangely serene.

She set the last two bags inside, breathing a little heavy. She pulled a few water logged strands of hair out of her face, seeing Alyssa standing in the center of the main room listening to her phone with an intent stare. Then Alyssa flipped it closed and sighed. "What was that all about?"

Alyssa turned to look at her and stopped in her tracks. Her eyes went wide slightly, and she seemed unable to speak. Clair had seen that look before, from guys at clubs when they saw her. She smiled, happy to think that Alyssa would look at her that way. But did it mean what she wanted it to?

"That was Liv." Alyssa stammered. " But I couldn't understand a word. Could be that they can't make it up here with the storm and all..."

"That sucks," Clair sighed, "but it does make sense." "If your folks have a radio we can find out that way." Maybe she was being way too old fashioned, but a radio was good and reliable. Besides, the thought of snuggling by the fire with the radio playing was really very appealing.

"So," Clair put one arm straight up in the air, running her other hand down it, spreading her legs apart, "do I win the Mountain Rain Wet T-Shirt Contest?"

While Alyssa was still stunned Clair threw herself into pose. "So, do I win the Mountain Rain Wet T-Shirt Contest?" One arm in the air, the other slowly running down her body, with a twinkle in her eyes and her mouth staying slightly open she was a goddess. Alyssa had seen her friend hitting on guys when they were out clubbing, she had seen her naked a couple of times when they had been swimming, they had shared the same bed on several sleepovers when they still were younger but this time it was different.

There was no mistaking Clair's advance. Whether it was planned or spontaneous, in that special instant the pose was meant for her, Alyssa, to turn her on, to challenge her, maybe even to test her, whatever. Alyssa felt her throat go dry and her knees weak. "Sure, you win..." she said hoarsely. Her head was spinning.

Go ahead and let it be - step back and forget it; forever.

Those were the options she had and there had to be a decision right now. The whole evening there had been this tension. It had dawned to her that missing Clair had been something more than 'missing your best friend' and she had fought all the way against the implications. Now they were here. The two of them alone, with noone going to interfere, with all the time in the world. They had reached the summit and it was up to her to climb down carefully and safely or to opt for the unsafe ride, whatever it might be.

"You're the winner. Now come and take your prize." she whispered, taking a step forward.

Alyssa seemed stunned, staring at Clair for long seconds. Clair began to feel nervous. Maybe she'd gone too far. When she started out with the pose thing, she was being silly, but she'd gone all the way to full on, flirting, turn on every guy in the room sexy. She hadn't meant to...not at first.

Alyssa's voice was soft, almost scared as she answered. "You're the winner. Now come and take your prize." she whispered, taking a step forward. Clair blinked, startled by her friend's reaction. She knew how she felt about Alyssa. She'd figured it out a month ago. From that look on Alyssa's face...had she realized Clair's feelings?

Clair took a step forward, the cold chill seeping into her bones suddenly forgotten. "My prize?" She smiled, now feeling incredibly nervous herself. "Only if it's really mine to take." She put her arms around Alyssa, hugging her tightly. Their faces were almost touching, Clair's eyes lingering on Alyssa's lips before meeting her eyes. "Is it?"

Clair blinked obviously surprised by Alyssa's reaction. Alyssa couldn't blame her for this as she was surprised herself by the boldness of her action, feeling as if she was remote controlled somehow, watching herself from the outside. She knew perfectly well that what she was about to do could - no, did jeopardize their wonderful friendship but in this special instant, though reason told her to stop it, her heart didn't care at all. She wanted it...

Clair stepped up to her, put her arms around, hugged her. Alyssa felt the wet fabric of Clair's clothes pressed against her body, putting her arms automatically around her friend. Their faces were only inches apart, she could sense Clair's warm breath as she spoke.

"My prize? Only if it's really mine to take." She hesistated. "Is it?"

Staring deeply into Clair's warm, hazel eyes Alyssa didn't answer. Seconds passed that seemed like an eternity. Then, in slow motion, Alysssa slightly tilted her head to one side and their lips closed the gap that had been there. It had begun...

For long moments their lips only rested against each other before they began to move, very slowly, very carefully. With her eyes closed Alyssa concentrated on taking in every detail she felt. Clair's lips were hot and dry, even though she was completely drenched otherwise. Her breath was slow and steady. It felt so good and after a short while Alyssa dared to open her mouth slightly.

Clair's heart swelled as Alyssa timidly, oh, so timidly, brought their lips together. "Oh, Alyssa," she whispered, feeling tears in her eyes as she closed them. She'd wanted this for so long. A lot longer than she had realized.

Their lips were hesitant as they touched carefully, gently, but grew more relaxed as the seconds stretched on. As Alyssa's mouth opened slightly, Clair reached out with her tongue to lick her lips, not yet daring to enter her mouth.

Alyssa felt Clair's soft warm tongue on her lips, shyly licking them, bringing moisture not only to her mouth. Alyssa had the funny feeling that her tummy tightened and pulsed but it was an enjoyable good feeling. Still a bit unsure she began to suck gently on Clair's tongue, soon feeling that Clair extended it more and more, entering her mouth. Before she really knew it she was french kissing her long-term best friend with increasing passion. She licked Clair's lips and her front teeth, tasted her saliva. She was surprised how incredibly soft Clair's lips were. Without a further thought her hands started to wander about Clair's back, stroking her wet t-shirt, slowly working their way down...

Alyssa's hesitation seemed to lessen by the moment, the two friends soon kissing each other deeply, tongues probing and tasting. Clair's heart was soaring, and she almost wanted to sing. This was so what she had been waiting for, wanting.

She reached up to pull Alyssa's hair out of the ponytail, then ran her hands though her beautiful red locks. Then down the graceful curve of her neck and along her shoulders. She wanted to feel Alyssa's body, without cloth between them, but she had to let Alyssa make that choice.

Instead, she ran her hands slowly and lightly along her friend's back, to slide over her waist before toying with the edge of her sweater.

[OOC: I'm sorry. Along with the difficulties of restricted net access came kind of a writer's block. Maybe it's kind of a periodic thing with me, sometimes I'm able to keep posting all day and then there are weeks wehre I can't write a single line. I hope we can still go on with this...]

Alyssa shook her head to free her hair when Clair opened her ponytail. She felt Clair's hand run down her back and down to the edge of her sweater. But then they stopped and Alyssa sensed hesitation in her friend's kiss. She guessed that Clair didn't want to scare her off by being too bold and found it incredibly cute and was thankful for Clair's consideration. But if she had known how good Alyssa felt now that the first step was taken she wouldn't have hesitated one second. To show her friend what she wanted, Alyssa took a little step back with out breaking the kiss and lifted the edge of her sweater, slightly pulling it up.

She felt Clair's hand slip under her shirt and glide over her back for a few moments, then come around her waist to her tummy. Clair broke the kiss, looked deeply into Alyssa's eyes and started to pull her friend's sweater up and over her head.

Clair felt a little sad when Alyssa moved back, wanting, needing to feel the heat of his body. But then she was surprised as her friend's hand held open her sweater, granting Clair access.

She smiled into Alyssa's sweet lips, running her hands over the warm smoothness of her back, her sides, her stomach. God, she needed more. Clair had to see Alyssa's body, see all of her love bare before her. Her love...it was true. Clair's just finally admitted it to herself.

She broke off the kiss, and stopped back. Her eyes never left Alyssa's, her friend silent urging her on. She lifted Alyssa's sweater up slowly, her friend raising her arms. Up, up, up, and up, and then, finally, off. Clair rolled it up before tossing it onto a wooden chair.

Alyssa's skin was so perfect, free of any marks or blemishes. Her breasts were perfectly sized in Clair's mind, big enough for fun but not too much to get in the way. They were hidden behind the white fabric of her bra...but not for long if Clair had her way. She licked her lips slowly.

Better return the favor, she thought wickedly. Besides, the wet clothes were leeching all the heat out of her. She was getting so cold, except between her legs and in her stomach, where a wet heat was growing. Alyssa could mostly see through Clair's t-shirt anyway. The "Got Milk" logo stretched and then flipped as Clair peeled the soaking garment off, baring her chest in the cold air of the cabin. She wore no bra, and her nipples were erect, jutting proudly into the air.
