Re: Re: November Nominees

If no other illustrated poem submitted in November had ten or more votes, I guess they had to drop that criterion. It's not unusual, in any poetry category.

Same goes for the audio category. :)

holy shit, what is this and what does it mean?

Means your poem is one of the pre-candidates to win Erotic Poem of the Year at the 2004 Literotica Awards in February. :D

Congrats to all the nominees!!:rose: and Lauren for your story , which rocked...and perks, your poem, is so fucking intense, made me feel dirty when I read it and you know I wouldve voted you a 10 if it were possible :D

I know what you mean. My nominated erotic poem isn't very erotic either, but has sex on it, so what the hell. Time to rise the standards anyway. ;)

oh lawd, competing against youuuuuuuu???!??!?

fuckall. :D

Lauren and Perks,
this is only my opinion, of course, but concerning your nominations that you both consider to not be very erotic content laden, well, I have been actively delving  into the minds of men, over the past few years...( they know this, and I have a few that will tell me all kinds of good stuff..thanks guys!!!)

my purpose in this, is that while being a freak when it comes to wanting to understand how people think, is basically a desire to know how men think and what they consider to be erotic is not always what we women percieve it to be

i think its like the idea that if you leave something to the imagination, they get even more turned on and as for the poetry, language in motion, when it flows and has a purpose, ( like angelines, Giving Thanks and perks midtown addict) is sexual to me... when I said midtown addict made me feel dirty, I meant in an emotionally euphoric way, I felt for you, you took me there and let me see your world...thank you

Rats! Our secrets are out (except for the average Lit. poet who loves as dirty and graphic sex as possible)!
But we beat you! A man understood women first!!

Understanding :D :p :D

Yours is a poem against which I would gladly lose. Or at least gracefully. :D

Seriously, it rawks.

Maria, I understand what you're saying, but in this case, I think it's more of the opposite. In my poem in particular, Stylization, I have very graphic language describing sexual intercourse, and that's why I submitted it under Erotic. But the real drive of the poem isn't sex. That's just the backdrop against which the message of the poem is placed. I really thought about submitting it as non-Erotic, since it was not devised to arouse.

The same thing with Perks's poem. Sure, there's sex in it, but it's not really what the poem is about...

I understand and agree with you...what I meant was that perceptions are so different, vary so much between what a poet might mean and what the reader feels or envisons when he/ she reads it.
for example, I had a poem posted titled sex dance...it was about a ballerina, but I had 4 emails praising the visions of a stripper.... I reread it several times and could definitely see why they got that idea, but it was so opposite of what I was seeing when I wrote it...i think this is why I love the art form so much, its something wonderful, ( if youre lucky) and different for everyone.
:)

Where do I go to find out all this info? I found the "competion info" but it's stories only.
