Notification of submission?

Sorry, newbie question here. I submitted my first story yesterday. I know it takes up to 72 hours to be accepted, but do you get an acknowledgement email or anything? I haven't seen anything yet.

No emails or alerts. You'll have to check the 'Pending' folder on your Works dashboard. When it gets the little orange 'new' tag and a date, that's how you know. And it sometimes can take longer than 72 hours, especially when there are contests and challenges going on (which seems to be about 75% of the time these days).

Yeah, it’s very easy. You just submit a story, then compulsively check every five minutes until it’s “pending” badge switches to “new”, and you see a date of publication. Then you wait until that day arrives, and when it does - even more compulsively check for views and votes on your story every minute or so to see how well it does.

And checking means that you obsessively refresh the page 30-40 times every day to see.

Be aware that the delay is longer for new writers, presumably because they’re more closely scrutinized.

Worth mentioning you also won't be notified if a story is rejected. Only way you know that is to go to your page and look to see if there's a notification on "sent back."
