Nothing New Under The Sun

About three times a year I run into a product or adaptation of an existing idea That I thought I was the originator of,, Problem is, I can't draw and I don't knoe electronics.

But here is a device I invented (in my head) that you can all have to see who can produce the prototype and get the patent. One catch though, When you reach the first million in saies (not profit)you need to give me tengrand. Okay here it is. A multi function dildo, or maybe two cojoined vibrators one can wear inside oneself. Your lover can call a special number from anywhere and the device within you is activated. Different numbers entered could activate different functions, eg slow med fast rotate, plunge.

Funny how things like that work out. I was looking for a battery...can't remember what it was for...but none of the big box stores had any and wouldn't order them. Then I thought that I should open a chain of stores with nothing but batteries. Every kind of battery ever made for you right there under one roof. I would call this amazing store - "Batteries r Us". I figured Toys r Us would object and put it on the back burner.

Two weeks later a "Batteries r Us" store opened up on the corner across from the giant chicken KFC in Marietta, GA. where I lived at the time.

And no, I had never seen another store. I hadn't seen an ad on TV, in paper or on some billboard. The store just appeared one day. Poof.

I did go in and they had the battery I needed, in stock. I was kind of happy.

But I swear...someone stole my idea!

My first FM sound synthesizer for my old i386 PC was an AdLib card with Composer software. This allowed piano-roll-like scoring of individual voice lines. (I upgraded to a SoundBlasterPro card; the AdLib warez still ran just fine.) I was playing with odd voicings and harmonies and choppy rhythms, and produced a set of thematically integrated short pieces.

One morning I switched on the KPFA Morning Concert and heard the latest work-in-progress by John Adams, then composer-in-residence at the San Francisco Symphony. (This was a bit after NIXON IN CHINA.) Adams' piece was a sketch of his forthcoming 1492 soundtrack. DAMN if that sketch didn't sound EXACTLY like my choppy suite. The fucker stole my thoughts!
