You seem most comfortable in the write when you're describing Miranda drawing Shelly. Very sensual and erotic then. The tone is realistic. I can see the characters talking that way.

I'd do some minor editing. 'figurative' wasn't necessary. Little things like that irritated me.

I think if you'd had more liberal a word limit, that story could have gone much much farther.
