if i ever locate stanley turrentine playing in a sentimental mood, i'll post it right away....it's amazing.

that was nice... heck, it looks like you could do a whole thread with versions of "sleepwalk". lol.

You bet. He is incredibly talented, as are all the artists in the thread. I may never leave this thread.

Is this Cathleen from MA?

Yes, I am her. How are you stranger? Actually I think I'm the stranger -- haven't spent much time here in a while. This thread changed that for sure.

all of the music being posted here is wonderful. i thought i would leave something to jumpstart everyone's friday.... bob james featuring kirk whalum on flute. kirk whalum is brilliant on the saxophone but what he does with this flute is delicious. and bob james on piano....simply beautiful.

i have to admit that when i was younger, i watched at a few episodes of taxi here and there but my favorite part was the introduction song, angela. i loved hearing that song while watching that taxi drive across the queensboro bridge. i didn't find out the name of the song and that bob james wrote it originally until i was older, i always thought the song was called taxi.

enjoy angela by bob james featuring kirk whalum

i love that song -- phil collins also did a nice version of it.

thank you for your kind words.

i can't seem to find stanley turrentine playing in a sentimental mood, but there is an artist by the name of ledisi whose version of the song, coupled with the background music, just moves me. she has such a powerful gift.

i hope you enjoy this piece.
