Rob, the same thing crossed my mind. But I finally decided to let the old cliche's fall where they may and posted mine a couple days ago. It'll be interesting to see how the reads/votes go in the next few days. I've got a hunch EL may be right, but no idea how that'll effect the scoring.

Comparing my Winter Holiday Contest Stories to the Halloween ones, I find more votes, at least as many PC's but dramatically fewer views. Is everyone tired of reading the voluminous contest entries? Was there too little "space" between the contests? Other "quirky things":

a. 4 out of 5 of the highest rated stories are in the Romance category, a traditionally less read one, although people usually vote well if the story isn't merely a stroke tale.

b. There are no stories yet in the Gay Male, Toys and Masturbation, Reviews and Essays, Anal, NonHuman, How-To and quite a few other categories.

c. Two of the Halloween entries that didn't win, by neonlyte and Tony155, would have placed 2nd and 3rd respectively if the Halloween Contest had ended today.

Time to go back to sleep....
