I have just finished writing several notes of thanks.
The first is to the crew in the E.R.
To those who were on duty on 02-24-08
You took care of my wife in her time of crisis. For that I am thankful. A couple of you though went above and beyond your duties. Diane, You calmed my wife with your direct actions and stopped her attack. Brian, you correctly diagnosed her problem and explained it to her in terms she could understand in her mental state which allowed her to relax. My thanks to you and yours.
To those who work with my wife:
You saw my wife when she was in distress and immediatly moved to help her irregardless of your work loads. You comforted her until she was transfered to the E.R. (Toy and David you both did what needed to be done. You diagnosed what was happeneing and transferred her to the E.R. with a minimum of fuss and comforted her on the way. I thank you.) All of you have called her to check on her, for which I am grateful. You have shown both of us your support for her. For this I thank you.
The last card is to one of the R.N.'s on her floor. Toy is an R.N. of longstanding and great knowledge. She immediatly took charge of the situation and had my wife transported to the E.R. She is also a good friend of my wife. To her I wrote:
Toy, I owe you more than you can imagine. You saw my wife in a situation beyond her control. You stepped in and comforted her until she was transfered to the E.R. It was your actions that started her treatment and her cure. My wife remembers you standing in front of her and comforting her, she remembers you going to the E.R. and commanding her to calm down until you passed her care over to another. Your hand on her shoulder, your voice of calm as the others from the floor were in her face remains in her memmory. For this I thank you. You among others were instrumental in her care.
