Hey…seeing as so much romance tends to pop up on the board, I thought it might be a public service to let everyone know who is/isn’t a notary and what states their commissions are valid in.

Florida Notary here. Able to marry ;) Jed Bush signed the paper to authorize me.

I think I read that not all states allow notaries to marry people. Is this so?

I wonder how long until there are "cyber notaries" who will be able to notarize stuff on the web....now THERE is an untapped business aspect...

Please pharase all answers/comments in the form of a question.

MP ;) LOL.

Is this about notaries or the ability to perform marraiges? Anyone familiar with the Universal Life Church? Did any of you know that I am an Ordained Minister in the Universal Life Church and can legally perform marraiges in the state of California?

Does that have anything to do with witches, out of curiosity? I know someone who got married by a minister of the Universal Life Church. She used to just sell the wedding flowers for the church, but decided she could get more business if she could do the actual wedding, too. If you give her enough notice, she'll even do the invitations.

It was one of the weirdest weddings I've ever been to.

Nope - not related to wicca at all... just an open free organization:

"The Universal Life Church will not stand between you and your God and recognizes that each person must choose his own path. Each person in the ULC is free to follow any path as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others."
