This thread will have much venting.
I would like the good people of this board to be aware of two inventions that have begun to revolutionize the way we communicate.
E-mail and IM
Yes, no longer must every thought that you wish to send to another person become a thread on this board. You can say, "Hi, how are you?" or other personal messages without making a general nuisance of yourself. (Oh, wait; being a general nuisance is what some people here specialize in - best not give them too many ideas)
Yes, it can be cute - but twenty versions of "Hi. How are you?" floating around the board is not cute. It's almost irritating.
I don't raise myself above others, carve, "Thou shalt not..." into stone tablets and proceed to beat said tablets over the head of the offenders - though in a perfect word I would be a goddess and you'd all tremble at the thought of incurring my wrath.
Nevertheless, I would like to request that certain brand of silliness declines for a while.
Do that and I won't even complain about starting a second thread to respond to a previous one.
