The story is about a man that leaves his wife, I think after betrayal to start a fishing or boating company in the boonies then by coincidence he meets his young daughter while her mother is hiding out and eventually finds out it's his actual daughter he's been treating as his child. He builds her a bridge over a creek and a swingset and finds out who her mother is when she invites him to her birthday party.
