Sixteen is the age of consent in the UK, correct?

Ethically, not a good idea. But legally? It's actually accurate. No one should be put on a sex offender list because they had sex with someone at or over that country's age of consent.
 
What's the problem here? They're talking about sex with someone 18 or older? Why should they be prosecuted?

Edited to add: Ah, the age of consent is 16? Mmm. That changes things...

(For those who hate links without summaries, as I do, the link is to an article in Fox News about the head of a British teachers' union who created a stir by suggesting that teachers who have sex with their underage students not be prosecuted.)
