I saw a couple North Carolina threads, but decided to make a new one just to see how active people in good ole' NC really are. So come on in if your from NC and even if you arn't, we are all nice and inviting!

Well, i guess i'll start this bad boy: 20.m.NC (Raleigh that is). I like going out on the weekends and meeting new people and deffinatly wouldn't mind meeting new people! Just as long as you are open minded, and have a great sense of humor!! I work for an IT company and love it, looking into getting into law enforcement, that might be what i'm going to get into. So hit me up if you'd like to chat, or even more :p (women). Hope to see more North Carolinians reply so that I know i'm not alone. :)

I also just registered, been browsing for a while, and just decided to join! It's also my 2nd post! :D

NC Also

New to the area up from Arkansas and SC.
Hope to meet some open minded ladies here in NC, Fayetteville area.

Hope this NC thread gets alot of responses

I use to live in the Philly area before moving to NC. It seemed easier to find open minded people there. I've been in NC since 1998, and it is getting better.

hi saw the thread raleigh area here, hopefully more from nc on lit will come out of the woodworks and join us here.

where in raleigh do you live? (just curious for a demographic type sense), I myself live near the creedmore rd./lynn road(or lead mine road) intersection. Good communities, semi-good people :p

Love living in North Kakilaki. Beautiful women and the weather is good cept for hurricane season.

we should have gotten some snow, remember last jan-feb like half inch city paralyzing snow/ice? HAHA

Raleigh-Durham is a very cosmopolitan area in that probably 1 out of 5 people you talk to there are really native to that area. The Charlotte metro area is the same. Both have a large northeastern population now. Fayetteville is Airborne and Ranger territory, and anyone else better know their place!
The rest of central NC, the Piedmont area population, has some characteristics that are common to the whole area.
First, the average education level of native Northcarolinians is about 9yth-10th grade, and mostly home-schooled.
second, 2 of every 5 male drivers on the road have a suspended license....DUI, and 3 of 5 have an unregistered hand gun in the car. Think about that!
Third, the word "merge" does not exist in their vocabulary. As you follow a NC tagged vehicle down the entrance ramp, be prepared for it to stop at the end so that the driver can look left for a line of traffic to pull out in front of. However, if you are in that line, just stay in the right lane because they will immediately pull into the far left travel lane to do EXACTLY the speed limit or up to 5 under.....ALWAYS. Exit ramps, on the other hand, offer an escape from that horrible higway travel and are most often taken with their foot firmly planted on the accellerator.
One recent High School graduate (and there are a few. This large town west of Charlotte got their dropout rate to a phenominal low under 30%!!) told me the driving instructor took them to rural areas to learn..."because that's how I learned". Now you can understand why the farmer's fences are set back quite a bit. Anyway, she avoided the highway for over six months after getting her license.
Standing in line at a grocery store one Sat. afternoon, I realised the only other person (out 0f 9) in line without at least one "suitcase" of beer was probably 10 years old. When she got to the register in front of me she was buying a carton of cigarettes for her mother. A guy I worked with used to take a six-pack in a mini-cooler for the 8-10 minute drive to pick up his daughter at work. He once lambasted the mayor because he got a ticket for doing 35 in a 25 zone ....past a school crossing guard!! His theory....."those were the kids in school, therefore they should have been smart enough to keep out of the way."

NC is a fun place to visit, especially the coast or the western mountains, but living there got old quickly.

Oh yeah, and there was the guy at Don Pablo's who told us he lived over the border in SOUTH Carolina because the state AND FEDERAL tax rate was lower there! "Yup, the Fed'ral too!" he affirmed.

Oh yes I do. I spent the night at work on the floor. I guess it was better than spending the night in the car...

I'm in Clayton, work in Raleigh.

Ready to Move

I have had positive encounters with the people here in Fayetteville but think I want to move further out of town. It's weird to say this being military myself but I would like to get away of the large numbers of military here. Have no problems with any branch of service just the town is over crowded with military. Nothing like going to clubs and bars and 20 guys to 1 girl. LOL

I love North Carolina, especially the area around Boone/Banner Elk.

I just doesn't get any better than that.

I guess you could say that BellaBloodAngel. As opposed to my superbowl thread for all the seatle fans to be quiet (i am a seattle fan also, so no bashing), it got 18 posts in 10 minutes, i was talking to someone about that before. But in comparison, this thread is crawling along, haha. Also, this sunday i'm going out paintballing, it's a place called gotcha paintball (www.gotchapaintball.com).
It is located at:

176 Darius Pearce Rd.
Rolesville, NC

Enjoy the night ladies, and gentlemen =)

Capt. I agree 1000%! That whole Northwest corner area is wonderful. Let's hope it never gets to be all "big money" like some of the areas around Asheville.
