Before "The Far Side" and "Bloom County" there was Don Martin of MAD magazine. The original 'twisted' cartoonist. I remember one of his cartoons that appeared in Playboy. This yo-yo was standing in a barn with a Camel and a stack of hay picking up one straw of hay at a time, placing it on the Camel's back and saying, "Nope, that's not the one."

I can think of no better visual to describe the press's and the democrats approach to, and reaction to, the various 'special' elections taking place around the country to replace those republicans appointed to various positions in the Trump admin.

Trump should have appointed a dog catcher from some 'red' county just to see how much money and how much significance the press and dems would place on trying to replace that person with one of the faithful.

The guy managed to go from 49% to 47%.

Money well spent. As I said in the other thread, the most effective wealth distribution scheme that the elite California left has come up with yet. Then I see an idiot Democrat strategist informing us that this loss is a huge victory for Democrats because it shows that in 2018 the Republicans are going to have to spend huge sums of money to defend safe districts as if he is expecting an explosion of Democrats contributing to known lost causes...

Somebody needs to get out of their bubble!

Breaking News!

I love the way television in its death throes weights each factoid a game changer.

Not to much unlike how for eight years the board libtards would be able to find an isolated economic indicator that "proved" the economy had turned around, we were experiencing robust growth and Republicans would never again get a say in the running of the country/economy...

Even as they kept losing sure-win elections.

They refuse to learn.

I have no dog in any american political scrape.

I was talking about the end of broadcast network news.

Actually, and this is more American political redux, liberal news has enjoyed a rating boost since the election as shell-shocked Progressives are tuning in to have their bias confirmation bolstered...

It sure beats examining what you did wrong and trying to correct it.

They played the 'victim' card for so long now that they've come to believe their own political spin.

Speaking of isolated economic indicator, remember back when the stock market had a single day minor plunge and your buddy the vettebigot declared it to be both teh end of the world AND a referendum on President Obama's leadership? He spluttered "Remember May 28th!" for a month afterward. Of course, the stock market recovered but, like you, he was a Vietnam-era Marine and lacked the spine to admit he was wrong.

#Anecdata

And you may recall the day President Obama took office, you piously announced the economy would NEVAR recover, so you were completely out of the stock market, you invested in gold and Glen Beck's "Freedom Seeds"?
Then six years later you announced that you had correctly timed the market once again (sixth straight time, a modern record) and had locked in tremendous profits in the stock market? Seems you figured out how to be 100% invested in Stocks AND 100% invested in Gold simultaneously?

Good times!

And for old times sake, lecture once again on how the stock market is actually a TRAILING indicator of economic activity!

In the West, the increasing fluidity of secular values is creating uncertainty and discord, leaving the first world open to all sorts of societal incursions.

Once you circle your wagons, it's important to shoot outwards, not inwards.

Correct those two things and you've got a good shot at stability and prosperity again.

Maybe the democrats ought to hook up with the Russians, it's obvious they can't even buy an election these days.

You can't make this shit up.

A precinct captain for Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff’s congressional campaign complained recently that many of his constituents are hard to reach because they still live at home with their parents.
