Non-existent inspections and enforcement played a role at Champlain Towers

Very typical for a lot of places, not just Florida.

Let's be clear here. That was not and is not a "Florida" problem. It WAS a problem with small communities that were unprepared for development and/or had corrupt officials. In the Miami area those were Surfside, Sunny Isles, Golden Beach, and to a lesser extent Bal Harbour. Miami, Miami Beach, North Miami Beach, Coral Gables and the rest had thoroughly professional inspectors.

ALL high rises in the aforementioned suspect communities built in the late 70's through the early 90's should undergo a thorough inspection.

Not just those communities, killer. All of them built in the 70s-80s. Like Ishmael, the first generation of American condominiums are reaching old age and are decaying. They've reached the end of their useful lifespan

You are correct in that it's not specifically a "Florida" problem....Florida simply has many more retirement condo developments than just about anyplace in America.

He already said that, snowflake.

How sad it must be to belong to a mindset that must knee-jerk defend things like Trump and Florida. 🤣

(The only thing sadder would possibly be having to knee-jerk defend insurrectionists and white supremacists oh wait never mind.)
