So, I'm writing a BDSM story with a non-binary dominant character (biologically a female), but I'm not sure how they should be addressed by their sub. "Master" and "mistress" do not obviously work.
I was thinking "Mixtress", but maybe there is already a standard name. Any ideas/thoughts?

Thanks!

Boss? My ex used to call me "Mylege" as in his allegiance.

Unfortunately I can't have them called "boss"! I already have a "Marcie"-type character who uses that and it's kind of important for the plot. I like My liege, though..

"Owner" might work, although it also might imply a slightly different (more pet-like) relationship than what you're aiming for.

Yeah... Also "trainer" sounds more like there is training in progress, which is not always true, once the relationship is stable enough...

'Staff'?

Although, although, it could be that the sub has to guess, with punishments and rewards given for guessing right or wrong. :D

I'm kind of surprised no one has brought up Japanese suffixes.

-San is the rough equivalent of 'Mr/Mrs/Ms/Mz/..'

-Sama is -san on steriods. Lord, Queen, Boss, Leader, something like that

-Chun is used for 'cute' beings lower in the social scale than you. I've seen it used with good effect with a sub before.

This link explains them all in more detail and adds some other terms that might be of interest.

I'm sure there're other terms from other languages/cultures that may apply, these are just the ones that first came to mind for me.

That's very original! I didn't think of that! Right now, though, I'm partial to "Keeper", from the reddit thread posted by Bramblethorn: I find it very romantic.

Ok, I think I've found an appropriate name. Thanks to everybody for the input!
