When I have a sub I try to get to take lessons in massage, cooking, and yoga (for flexibity and balance) if it is new to her. Does anyone else have more on their list?

Alligator wrestling, jujitsu and car restoration.

In all seriousness, whatever they want to move towards I give 'em that extra kick in the butt. I'd rather eat my cooking than that of someone who never wanted to learn to cook.

If they want to take writing classes, as an example, I find a way to maximize that.

i was sitting here about the classes i wish i had the time, money and inclination to take - cooking, painting, sculpture, pottery, and self defense and i had an amusing line of thought....

Doms protect their subs. Regardless of the degree to which they involve themselves in vanilla lifestyles. But how willing are they to let on that there are perhaps some circumstances in which they may be unable to rush in and save their darling pet? A girl really should know how to protect herself. I think it would take a secure and wise dom to put a sub in such a class. And a sub very confident in her master's guidance to push herself to take part in such a class that might otherwise be a scary admittion that she might have to one day fend for herself. It could be an amazing growth experience for both involved. Besides that, i think it shows a really deep sense of caring and love from the Master and the lengths to which he thinks about her safety. It could even help her should she some day be without you and looking for a new master.

..... i hope this is food for fodder and that you have interesting commentary (forgive my spelling)

Are you speaking of classes in self-defense, contortionism for getting out of bondage if the dominant keels over from a heart attack, or what?

how about sewing and ironing. 2 simple things that I somehow found difficult. The first time around I remembered it being so bad that I burned his carpet, the ironing board, the towel and His shirt.

He was madddd! I learned from someone who knew how to iron after that though...

I don't have anything to add to this thread but I had to jump in and say that line made me laugh my ass off.

i've done the alligator wrestling with poor results-lol. The alligator was winning until help arrived. Car restoration....think that i'll try that one next. Its gotta be safer!

Here is my two cents worth.

I would encourage anyone to take a good self defense course, both subs and doms alike. Consider it a present for each other, go together, and have a blast. After all subs, if you pair with your doms, you get the opportunity to throw the dom on their backs for a change.

That would have been fun; if only if my Sir wasn't already the black belt and does the teachings.....Guess I wouldn't be throwing him on his back anytime soon...

angelic-

i'm sorry you were unable to understand me. i meant to convey self-defense classes. i'm not sure where you got contortionism

here's a personal favorite....belly dancing. Its a great compliment to yoga and its not quite as embarrassing as a class in strip teasing (not to mention most colleges have a belly dancing class)

Also, how about accupressure, oral interpretation (speech, you sickos) or maybe pilates

just a few ideas
