No more stories from Uther

I've been effectively banned. Not for the stories I write,
but for the software I use.
Do you get viruses and worms in your mailbox?
That's 'cause software (mostly Gates' software) has huge
holes in it which has the default value that its victims
operate programs -- nice programs as well as viruses --
that arrive in their mailboxes.
Well, you never got a virus from me. I mail using Elm. I
browse using Lynx. These are two seperate, and I do mean
seperate, programs. I can't do mail from Lynx, and I can't
browse from Elm.
Today, I mailed another story to Lit. I got back an
autoresponse saying that they woon't accept the story
I "click on" an URL sent in the mail. From Elm I CANNOT,
which is one reason you don't get viruses from me.
So those of us with safe software can't post on Lit
anymore.

What does your e-mail program have to do with submitting a story throughthe submissions page?

Does your non-standard browser not allow you to C&P into the form or attach a text file?

So, the problem is that you can't post the stories into the submission form? I'm not a Lynx user, although I have dabbled in it occationally, but what is the problem? It can't handle that big submissions?

ps. Although a big fan of the safer alternatives, I have used Bill Gates' Big Hole Windows since -92 and have not had or spread a single virus. It's a matter of practicing common sense, that is all.

Know where I can get Lynx? I need an excuse for not submitting anything.

Ps. I've never had any problems with viri, and I use W-2000. I just ignore any bulk mail I get and never open any unknown files.

just PM laurel and explain the situation. You are far too talented not to be posting and I am sure she can work something out with you.

Oh come on you old codger. I'm shakin my head right now as I read this.

Now in real life the only way to make sure you don't get viruses or give them and such is not to come into contact with people. However, at that point colds and other things are the least of your worries mate...

So here's what I'm saying...the only sure fire way to avoid virii and worms is to disconnect your computer from all life outside. Otherwise, just take adequate precautions and *have fun* using Billy Gates shoddy software....I certainly do.
