THANK YOU SWEET JESUS FOR ALLOWING IT TO END!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I'm so fed up of Christmas songs. I flatly refuse to turn on the radio during Christmas!

I've successfully insulated myself from that nonsense this year. Been lisening to a lot of old blues and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Try...

...working at a supermarket.

Even after close - my fucking boss loves christmess songs. Guess who suffers!

That's okay though... I'm getting my NIN theropy at the moment.

Blaahhhh!!

Spiritless Killjoys the lot of you...

Blaaahhhh!!

:p :p

I never get tired of Christmas music. I have one tape that will remain in my car until it's time for Christmas music in my classroom next year. I'll play it as I drive home later this week, and those times I need a pick-me-up.

I love the religious music of the season!

Joy to the World!

Joy to the world!
The Lord is come
Let earth receive her king
Let every heart
Prepare him room
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing!

Joy to the world!
The savior reigns
Let men their songs employ
While fields and flood
Rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy!

No more let sins
And sorrows grow
Nor thorns infest the ground
He comes to make
His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found
Far as the curse is found
Far as, far as the curse is found!

He rules the world
With truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of
His righteousness
And wonders of his love
And wonders of his love
And wonders, and wonders of his love!

This is one of my favorite secular Christmas songs....

Hard Candy Christmas

Hey, maybe I'll dye my hair
Maybe I'll move somewhere
Maybe I'll get a car
Maybe I'll drive so far they'll all lose track
Me, I'll bounce right back

Maybe I'll sleep real late
Maybe I'll lose some weight
Maybe I'll clear the junk
Maybe I'll just get drunk on apple wine

Me, I'll be just fine and dandy
Lord, it's like a hard candy Christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
Still I won't let sorrow bring me way down

I'll be fine and dandy
Lord, it's like a hard candy Christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
Still I won't let sorrow bring me way down

Hey, maybe I'll learn to sew
Maybe I'll just lie low
Maybe I'll hit the bars
Maybe I'll count the stars until the dawn
Me, I will go on

Maybe I'll just settle down
Maybe I'll just leave town
Maybe I'll have some fun
Maybe I'll meet someone and make 'em mine

Me, I'll be just fine and dandy
Lord, it's like a hard candy Christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
Still I won't let sorrow bring me way down

I'll be fine and dandy
Lord, it's like a hard candy Christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
Still I won't let sorrow bring me way down

I can handle that.

Another favorite, the first time I heard this one I cried.

It Wasn't His Child
by Skip Ewing

He was her man, she was his wife
And late one winter night
He knelt by her
As she gave birth
But it wasn't his child,
It wasn't his child

Yet still he took him as his own
And as he watched him grow
It brought him joy
But it wasn't his child
It wasn't his child

But like a father he was strong and kind
And I believe he did his best
It wasn't easy for him
But he did all could
His son was different from the rest
It wasn't his child
It wasn't his child

And when the boy became a man
He took his father's hand
And soon the world
Would all know why
It wasn't his child
It wasn't his child

But like a father he was strong and kind
And I believe he did his best
It wasn't easy for him
But he did all could
He grew up with his hands in wood
And he died with his hands in wood
He was God's child,
He was God's child

He was her man
She was his wife
And late one night
He knelt by her
As she gave birth
But it wasn't his child
It was God's child

I like that, MG.

I have never heard that song. Great lyrics! Does Skip sing it, or someone else?

I think it's on one of his albums and Trisha Yearwood also has a version out. I think someone else has a version, too, but I don't remember who.

I prefer Skip's.

Thanks MG

Sounds like he is Country/ Western. I'll check with my sis today and see if she has it. I'd like to hear it. Merry Christmas MG
