Good deeds always get punished.

Last Monday I found a rather large, as in thick and heavy Tennis Bracelet on the floor in work. It was laying on the floor under one of the desks. (I saw it as I walked towards the desk.) I turned it in to the Boss who informed me that she would hold it for a week unless someone claimed it.

That afternoon a rather pissed off woman showed up on the floor and claimed the bracelet. She claimed that it had been stolen from her and she not only wanted it back but she wanted charges pressed.

Well the boss asked her why she thought it had been stolen and she told a tale of a Nurse talking with her about it in her husbands room. Later it was missing and she claimed the Nurse had stolen it. My boss asked her what the Nurse looked like and she said it had been a female black Nurse. Then my boss called me forward and told her I was the one who had found it. The woman turned and stormed off the floor without so much as a thank you.

Irritating but what the hell. At least she got it back.

A touch of paranoia? Older woman? Angry that she loses and forgets things? Sad that people act that way.

What a bitch! She prolly thot because the nurse was black she stole it. The next person that finds it (it prolly fell from her wrist) won't be as honorable as you, Cat.

What an ungrateful, racist bitch! You could have kept it and not let on. Try not to let it get you down, you still get the brownie points from karma for doing the right thing. I have turned in an expensive ring and a couple of wallets in the last year. I have been really ill and forgetting things and I lost my purse a couple of times and it was returned to me, cash and cards intact. I like to think it was my accumulated good karma. I wish you the same.
