McKenna and I were PMing. Chuckling about the age difference from myself to her young age.

Contemplated why it is so easy to chat with others here in the white box.

Got it I think. Sex is ageless. From the young virile males and females, to the old crusty Og. We all have an interest in sex.

Some of us have experienced many, many years of it, while others are still using their own hands-dreaming of the time they get a chance.

Can you think of anything else that allows several generations to discuss any topic with the same level of interest that sex allows?

There are a lot of topics that can be discussed. Not all the threads are about sex.

Politics, the euro, accents and dialect have been discussed on threads recently. Not to mention the recurrent sheep.

No one is older than Og. I survived Noah's flood by riding on the roof of the Ark. I seem to remember that the animals were discussing how they would recolonise the earth. Animals could talk in those days. Noah and his wife didn't talk. They just kept rocking the boat. Sex was riding on the Ark as well.

As the good oggie says, all manner of things get talked about here and elsewhere, and by all ages.

As the lovely McKenna says, anonimity plays a major part on the internet.

It can play out in real life though, I have many friends half my age who I manage to communicate with quite successfully one to one, or as a group. It does help being an aging pervert of course, they love my many years worth of filthy jokes if nothing else.

This is an interesting topic and not so simply addressed. When I was finishing my degree in my late 40s my classmates were all between 19 and early 20s. It did not take long to feel in sync with them and I became friends with a few. When they would tell me I was cool I felt very special.

Here on the AH I feel quite close to a couple people only 19 or so. We write and chat and I don't think of our age diffs. I do like that there are people like Wills, Pops and Gauche closer to my age (though I am still the oldest). Maths has called me av-aunt-cular (the female of avuncular) and I like that too.

Sex is a universal subject but discussing it is limited due to modesty, culural restrictions, etc. Sports may be the closest thing to a universal subject that can be openly discussed. For most humans, sex is still a private matter while most sports are a public activity.
