i've been playing around with the Poetry Spinner option (i blame Ange completely for this of course  ;) )

i'm amazed how many poems i'm reading that don't allow me to leave a comment.

hey, i don't mind not voting, but i DO mind not being able to leave comments. open up poets! the majority of feedback you receive will be positive criticism of your writing that will help you improve your skills if you wish to improve. :)

the feedback you receive that does not pertain to your poetry IS NOT GOOD USEFUL CRITICISM OF YOUR WRITING and can therefore be completely ignored. :D

c'mon... let me leave some thoughts about your poems.

disclaimer: i am no expert. - just thought i'd make that clear. :D

Hey WSO,

Many older poems would have been posted before the public comment option was available and the author would have had to go back and turn it on for all their poems. If they are no longer active at Lit that might never have happened or they may not have had time to do it.

:rose:

of course. i never thought about the poetry being 'old'... my apologies, i should have known better.

:rose: thank you for letting me know.

wouldn't it be handy for each poem to show the date posted on the publication page? i wonder if that can be done...

and it's okay, some lovely person pointed me in the right direction to find the dates posted but i'm lazy, i want to be spoon fed whatever i want to know when i'm reading another person's poetry. bad, bad habits. grrrr

spin it again <grin... crack that whip and spin again...

you'll lasso another and another <grin

Some people do choose not to use the comment option, as Cat says, but I agree that most you find without it are older poems. The option to leave public comments has only been available for around 18 months or so (I don't think it's longer than that). The more old stuff you "spin" to read, the more poems you'll find with no option for comments.

Cat and I know this cause we're old. :D

well *huffy voice* i was just tryin' to be encouragin' y'know. i feel suitably spanked. (well, almost.)

*wicked grin*

sometimes i wish there were controls on that spinner thing. ;) controls for date and time and poets and stuff. now how cool would that be?

Art, not everybody needs to know i have one of those okay?

Ange, i don't consider you or Cat to be old. Not at all. :D

/end of good deeds for the day.

:D

my double apologies. i'm trying to make up for yesterday. ignore me and i'll go away. eventually. :)

What's all this talk about old? That doesn't happen until you hit triple digits -

20-30 Young Adult
30-40 Adult
40-65 Middle-aged
65-85 Mature
85-100 Senior Citizen
100+ Old

That's my time scale; I intend to stick around awhile. ;)
