No childless voters?

A new rightwing USA idea is that only parents should be allowed to vote, because non-parents don't commit or think ahead far enough. See articles in Salon (Ohio Senate candidate suggested that parents should get one extra vote for each of their kids) and RawStory (Fox News hosts discuss how to ban 'childless' liberals from voting). If implemented, rapists who impregnated females of any age have the franchise, while Catholic nuns and priests (mostly) don't. I don't know how scads of little bastards count, or birth-parents of adoptees, or absentee parents, etc.

Work this into a story. The US DoG (Dept of Genetics) demands universal DNA tests to determine who parented whom -- if no matches, you're an illegal voter. Who goes a-raping so they can vote? Who buys DNA transplants? And who hacks the databases?

Tragicomedy ensues.

When the population aging gets worse, and actual population decline is evident, something like this may easily occur.

Would childbearing be mandated as part of public education system?

Actually, the states all have the right to determine who votes. The Constitution only makes it so the states can't discriminate against people who are black or a woman.

So, setting the right to vote only if you have children or not is completely viable and currently legal.

I don't see this as an erotic story, unless all the liberal women are running around trying to get pregnant by anyone they happen to run into.

It's more of a future history type story.

Several writers have included some kind of limits on who votes. Most are, you have to serve in the military in order to vote. ie. Starship Troopers by Heinlein.

There are others out there but most are Sci-Fi novels.
