As the first of three winter storms moved into the Bay Area Wednesday, gusts up to 50 mph made the evening commute dicey.

Following a day of rain, heavy winds picked up in the afternoon, and the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the entire Bay Area for the rest of the night.

Most all of the Bay Area’s bridges — including the Bay Bridge, the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge and the Dumbarton Bridge — had wind advisories in effect in the afternoon and into the evening. The California Highway Patrol urged drivers to slow down on the spans.

Stay away from San Jose ?

The storm on Wednesday came with some wind gusts up to 55 mph in Pacifica and 46 mph in Half Moon Bay and Mineta San Jose International Airport. High winds knocked down a tree and blocked the roadway at Monroe Street and San Tomas Expressway in San Jose. The California Highway Patrol issued high wind advisories at the Antioch Bridge, Richmond Bridge, San Mateo Bridge and Bay Bridge.

Hundreds of travelers remain stranded in Oregon after Winter Storm Kori forced officials to close more than 200 miles of Interstate 80.

Kori is making travel impossible in some areas. In addition to Interstate 84, Interstate 82 was also shut down between I-84 and the Washington border. Earlier in the week, parts of I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass were closed due to snow slides and freezing rain that caused multiple spinouts, KOMO-TV reported.

California would be better off falling into the ocean. By California I mean the illegal alien safe house with free healthcare.

California by itself is the 7th largest economy in the world. Conceivably it could go it alone.

It could but as soon as it was no longer restrained by the Constitution the place would look just like Venezuela inside a decade, another self destructed socialist shit hole.

If California got rid of it's guns it could become like Canada or Australia.

When you look at your own household budget, do you only look at what you spent this month vs what you earned, or do you take into account all of your debt?

Budgets are not difficult. How much do you owe, how much do you spend and how much do you make.

$400 billion in unfunded liabilities and debt from public pensions, retiree health care and bonds, financial analysts say.

“Yes, the state’s budget is balanced if you are looking at what they are required to spend cash on this year, but not when you look at their expenses,” said Gabe Petek, a credit analyst with Standard & Poor’s.

California’s $400 billion debt worries analysts

If states budgeting and accounting methods are so great, why don't they work for the everyday household. Don't drink the kool-aid or only look at half the picture. It isn't only about income. If it was, we would never have another argument about Trumpconomics.
