Part of the time problem i think is that manu and lauren have been on vacation... or so i heard... Also the ending of the nude day contest....

that may account for part of the backlog....

Stella!! Stella's my heroine! I love Stella! WHOOEEEE!

Hey, Stella? Seriously, is there anything you're looking for feedback on? Let me know and I'll PM. I'm gently objective and have a good eye, believe it or not. And I absolutely believe in returning favors.

Thanks, you get a flower too... :rose:

Incidentally, my partner picked up on something somewhere (around the time your and TXRad's submissions went in) about the servers going down. You may have gone from 3 submissions back to 0 if they had to roll back the system to an earlier date/time.
I am so arrogant, I don't need pre-publishing feedback- I just want to get my work out for the public to read. :D
I know, I'm riding for a fall.

Alexis, I'm going to have to download and print "Sunset" to read it.

On the other hand, "The Peek-Chique Account" grabbed my attention- I read it all the way through ('scuse me while I wipe the slurp off my chin!) :rose:

Here's another question- All my celebrity stories are older celebs- You know, Richard Daltrey, Jim Morrison. David Bowie, Prince.
Would anyone here be old enough to remember these guys and get off on my fantasies?
The only contemporary celebs that stir me are Depp's characters, and Jack White.
Oh, and Catharine Zeta Jones.

They've also done some revamping of the submission area and changed a couple of things so that could account for the slowness of being approved.

By the way, your views can still say 0 even if your story has been approved. If it says approved out to the side instead of pending, then it's either already on the New Stories list or will be very soon thereafter.

Oh, and you don't have to submit all chapters of a story before they will start posting. That doesn't matter (but only one chapter will post per day.)

Balm...

Thanks Stella!
Right... so one problem with "Sunset" may be it's too long. Sorry you're having to download, and thanks for the tip! :rose:

I've wrestled with that one. I take time with plot and try to get characters to move from issue through resolution. So my stories are longer... but I haven't got the hang of reasonably spaced breaks for decent chapter lengths. It seems so formulaic. Anyone have any tips on that?

"Peek-Chique", on the other hand, has little plot or character, hence shorter. Giggle. It WAS fun though! I'm happy it made you slurp!

Bowie (post-Ziggy), Morrison and Roger Daltrey, definitely remembered and eminently get-offable!

It might only be "too long" for me, at this moment.
I was raised on the printed word- books, remember those...
It would be nice to take along with me somewhere, that's all!
Dammned if I know where chapter breaks go.
The one I have in submission has short little chapters, ranging from two paragraphs to a couple pages. Another one seems to break about every eight to ten double-spaced pages...

Bowie is Pre-Ziggy for me- I like 'em girlish...

Well, ya know... I take that back. Now I'm thinking about it, there's something curiously stirring about androgyny. I'm thinking of "The Man Who Fell to Earth".

good movie, i haven't seen in a while!

Well, we're talking, what? 30 years ago? <--- (the closest icon I could find to a panic button).

Thing about that movie, if you think about it, it would bridge the age gaps pretty well. Contemporaries would understand that slicked back andro as much as the Ziggy generation. I say go for it, if it strikes a chord.

If you're going to look for it, I think there's a director's cut out there. It was better than the first release.

Before I got to it, it said 3 submissions. Well, I have one story, and one poem, so I know that isn't right.

Checked back a few minutes later, and I had 367 submissions.

Ouch! Earlier post said Manu and Laurel had been on vacation. Looks like they had a little cleaning up to do when they got back! I'm nearly ready to submit another story... I may hold off a while.

I believe you won't see any new stories post until this thread gets back on topic.

Ahem.

(Like any of my threads have ever been on topic. )

But that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Stella- I noticed you have a story in the new list today. But when I clicked on your name to see your submission list, it says you have no submissions yet. Very very strange stuff.
But the good news- you do have a story posted. :)

edited to add link for Stella's story

Well, I'm torn- between shouting for joy, and cussing!
My chapter titles aren't delineated in any way- they look like sentences in th estory- most confusing.
Is it possible to edit this late in the game? How do I PM Laurel?

You can edit it. Simply paste a copy of the edited version (you can use html tags for bold or italics for the chapter titles if you wish) into the submission box and submit it with the same title with :EDIT at the end of the title and the edited version will replace the original within a few days.

The best way to edit a story is to submit it just like you did the original, with all of the corrections of course. In the title you put the same title as your story with the word EDITED and then in your story notes box, you can say EDITED version of (insert name of story). It takes a few days for the edit to go through.
As far as the chapter titles, did you bold them or something before? There are certain things you have to do to get bold and italics to work. For me, I've only ever gotten it right by uploading a word document because I don't understand all the coding stuff. I'm sure someone else can give you more help with that if you need it.

*big sigh of relief!*
WIll I need to reenter the category and keywords and stuff, I hope not?

From now on, all my work will come to Laurel preformatted. She ought to like that! :)

I reenter everything, just to be sure that the edited version doesn't end up with missing information.
