Watched a documentary about Watergate this weekend. I was struck by all the many many parallels between Trump and Nixon. Not news, I know, but still interesting.

Nixon:


-- Obsessed with Leaks and Leakers lmao!

-- Paranoid, mistrustful, would throw anyone under the bus

-- demanded loyalty

-- Ranted about the media. "Fake News" was "Shoddy" or "Shabby" Journalism

-- Described the press as his "enemy"

-- Claimed all the massive protests against him were "staged," in Nixon's case "by foreign governments"

-- Liked to use "National Security" as rationale for shady activity and dealing with dissent

-- Pressured the FBI, CIA, NSA to stop investigations.

-- Fired Special Counsel to shut down investigations into him; Trump fires FBI Director for same reason and considers firing SC

-- Both described their investigations as "Witch Hunts" lmfao

-- Liked to crow about their massive electoral victories

Trump only wanted to win the election; to beat Hillary Clinton. To that end, he accepted every shady deal he was offered, mainly by Russians.

Now he has won. Now he is done with it, and tries to find a way out of the job. He never bothered to learn how to be a President, or learn what a President should know. He just wings it. And when presented with an opportunity to do deeply un-American things, he does them, like sharing Israeli intelligence with Russians or ruining the tourism industry. He's obviously begging to be kicked out.
