And moved so far to the right, over these past forty years, that they clearly do not respect Nixon any more, not even if he had been an honest man. Started the EPA, expanded Medicaid, experimented with price controls, cut the final link to the gold standard -- a flaming lefty compared to Reagan, who for his part in turn could not pass today's conservative litmus test.

Awe... someone can't stand it when a real Republican speaks..The Tea Party nut jobs should have the balls to start their own party. Oh, they're trying. They just can't find enough nuts who want to join them.

Why start a new party instead of high jacking the one that already exists. Seems like a lot of work to do for no good reason.

Just means the TP doesn't have the balls to stand up for what they believe. They'd rather ruin another party instead of fully coming out of their fascist closet.

See I'm pretty sure it's the opposite. Republicans agree with the Tea Party for the most part and won't do shit. You know kinda like how they are always screaming about how if MOST Muslims are good why aren't they stopping the fringe even though the fringe of Islam is smaller and doesn't need the approval of the masses. Where are the Republicans speaking out against the Tea Party? Hell where are the silent majority simply voting these guys out at the primary?

It's my understanding the Tea Party does not agree with the GOP. The TP is constantly calling moderate Republicans RINOs.

To me, it's the Tea Party who are the RINOs, so it would make sense they make their own party where they can make it as pure as they want which would mean: no abortions under any circumstances, no contraception for women under any circumstances, no taxes for anyone or anything, no labor laws, no environmental laws, no regulation whatsover, no government, Christians only, whites only, straights only, Constitutionalists only, no one educated through the public school system. I mean if they really mean what they say, quit screwing around and stop piggybacking off a party they obviously hate. Geeze.
 
I see how you came to that conclusion. I have to tilt my head a bit and squint but I can see it.
