Another inquery...does anyone have nipple rings that seem to lessen breast sensitivity rather than heighten it?

yes if anyone has one please let us know, i was thinking about getting one but haven't decided yet because i don't know how long it takes to heal and if it will become more senstive or less.

well the reason i asked is because i have had mine done for almost 3 months and i have to say that instead of increasing the sensitivity like i had hoped for, the seem to have lessened it. as for the healing....one of mine did really well, but i am still having trouble with the left one...any agitation and it gets very tender....

My best friend got one done, as an experiment. That way while one was healing, she had the other one to play with. And if there were any decrease (or increase) in sensitivity, she would be able to gauge how her body would react. It's been about 6 months and she's completely healed. She said at first it was incredibly sensitive - she could almost climax just from walking up the stairs quickly for example, but it has lessened to just a bit above normal now. I'm begging her to get the other one done because I like symmetry, but she kind of likes the variety that comes with only having one.

Hmm...perhaps I just need to give them a couple more months to finish healing.
That's a good idea though, just getting the one done. However, I will say that if I had only gotten one done I probably would have never gotten the other one done and the asymetrical thing would have driven me crazy!

My girlfiren had one in her left nipple only before she met me and said that now when i play with them the left is less sensitive than the right and it is a little noticeable.

I used to have both mine done but I noticed when I first got them done they were more sensitvie then before but then after a year or so they were back to normal.

My girlfriend has both hers done also and they still seem to be extremely sensitive.

PS. let them heal properly, I do alot of sports and they kept reopening so I took them out. If you don't let them heal correctly you may get a bad infection like I did.

i've had both done for over a year and they continue to be more sensitive than before. i am very pleased, but would stress that you need to let them heal.

May I ask how long did it take yours to heal? Mine aren't like crusty or anything anymore, but like I said in an earlier post any kind of agitation seems to irritate the left one. LIke certain bras and stuff I wear even make it feel a little not so good.

My piercer said 4 months before i could "touch them" so i did my best to wait that long. Like yours, one of mine did better than the other. In fact, the one that hurt the most during my piercing is the one that did the best and it took the whole four months for the left one to stop being crusty. My piercer said, "Leave them alone! Don't touch them, don't peel off the little crusty stuff. Just leave them alone."

Well, i kinda, sorta, well, you know, well, i had to put sea salt baths on them and one thing, well, you know......The soreness was pretty much gone in the first few days. Is it possible for you to go braless for a few days and see if that makes a difference? This might be a great weekend to see........Even today if our play gets a little rough i might have some drainage, but only if we're rough.

Hope that helps a little.

Thank you so much! At least now I don't feel like the only one to have problems with them. :)
As for going braless, yes, it helps and I do it as much as possible.

It could take as little as 2 weeks or they could never heal. It just depends on how aften you reopen the wound.

When the crust forms I've learned from experience that you should leave it. It may not look nice but it will eventually fall off by itself when there healed.

Also, when you clean them (if you have rings) don't break the skin away to clean the metal unless its infected. Let it heal to the metal and eventually the skin will heal underneath.

nipple rings

I hade both of mine done in june-was told 6 to 8 months to heal,

Sometimes my wife forgets they are not done healing yet,and
can still be very tender.

So far they are 10 times more sensitive we both love them, but
she watched me get mine done and said no way-it only hurt for a
couple days-but I didn't have to wear a shirt.

Run a search on "nipple rings" and/or "nipple piercings". It's been discussed in many, many threads in this forum, the BDSM forum, and even on the general board. You'll get some great advice and insight, from me, as well as other people who have them, about what it was like to get them, healing times, and sensitivity.

I highly disagree with your post. So does the Association of Professional Piercers.

Body & Facial Piercing Aftercare Guidelines

Not soaking the crusts away, soaping up the ring with a recommended cleanser, and turning it inside the piercing places one at risk for an infection to begin. I believe you just were lucky.

Oh, I love having mine done too! :) Actually, I've noticed a lot of improvement over the last, say two weeks. I've left them alone and they seem to have healed a great deal and I'm noticing changes in the sensitivity. Perhaps it's true, all I really needed was a little more time.

Okay, mine took over a year to heal and sensitivity is about the same (two and a half years later) maybe less.... be prepared for it to hurt to have them played with, and the bigger your boobs are the longer it'll take. Hope this helps

oh and going braless may help at the time, but it wiont hel in the long run they need to be suported to heal properly I still have them play up if I wear a not so supportive bra... but maybe thats my big boobs....
check out www.bmezine.com they will help you no end

I do piercings and I can tell you from experience that nipples are very different in their healing times. A time that they will be healed is hard to pin point, but with careful maintenance you are looking at 6 months to 1 year for complete healing. After a little under 3 months or so you will have a fresh layer of skin and a closed wound, but you will continue to have crusties from the continued leakage brought about by the healing process. Wearing tight shirts, bras, or anything that can agitate them prolongs the healing process to some extent as it increases the chance of inflammation and potentially infection. I have found that wearing a bar bell will do better than wearing a CBR (Captive Ball Ring) when it comes to lessening the ring movement. Although it is a bit tougher to clean. I myself have an 8 gauge ring in my right nipple and have had it for about 6 years now. My left nipple likes to push them out so I've stopped trying to keep it pierced.

As for sensitivity thats a different thing as well. It's different for everyone, but piercing usually makes your nipples more sensitive. I know that mine are more sensitive since getting mine pierced and even though my left one has grown out it still retains much of it's former sensitivity.

On keeping it clean. *NEVER* just leave the crusty area around any piercing as it is a nasty breeding ground for bacteria. Do not pull the crusties off as they can lead to tears in the skin and a greater chance of infection. Soak them in the shower or other warm water solution and let them come off easily, then do your standard maintenance.

i too am a body piercer....
and the nipples can take anywhere up to 1 year to form their own sinus (fully healed flesh tunnel through the centre), so expect to have them play up for quite some time.

now, i'm not saying that it's the same for everyone - i've had 1 client who had no pain getting them done, and began to 'use' them 4 weeks later and has never had any trouble.....
but that's 1 client in 5 years.
very rare.

you should continue to use salt soaks for as long as they are tender and/or getting the dried discharge.
1/4 teaspoon sea salt (do not use table salt - the iodine actually delays healing) in 250 mls warm water.
to make it easier, i suggest using an eye-bath cup, and putting a little salt solution in there, and holding it over the nipple for at least 5 minutes, then rinsing with clean water.

and if at any stage your nipples play up again (they can become tender and discharge at any time, even after they're fully healed)
then use the salt soaks again until they're healed and for a week or so afterwards.

i agree with replicant, barbells are often far more comfortable for the wearer, but they do take extra time to keep them clean and care for them.
if you are having trouble with the CBRings, then consider changing to bars, but make sure the bar has at least 2mm 'play' - ie. is 2mm longer than the hole.
that will help with cleaning.

good luck.

okay you piercings experts ;) you mentioned changing to barbells...how soon after piercing can i do that?

i would suggest waiting for at least 4 weeks, but if they're really bugging you (the rings pulling or just not 'sitting right') then go back to your piercer and ask them to do it asap.

but i will tell you, that changing to barbells early after piercing will hurt, no getting away from that.

and remember, cleaning will be a lot more involved with bars, they're a lot harder to get in around.

but good luck with them!

Just to throw a bone into this thread................
I am COMPLETELY turned off by a woman having her nipples( or any body past below her neck) pierced!

WHY?

Why the hell would anyone mess with a fantastic body part?

I just don't get it!!!!!
And......................I will not have a woman with her breasts scarred from a stupid pet trick!
