I'm considering trying to do another TMNT rp. Anyone interested? I would play Leo, Splinter, Casey Jones, Shredder, and any other chars that are necessary. My idea is that during the 1940s, the US Government teams up with Stockman Industries to work on making super soldiers. They did a variety of experiments, including granting animal abilities to humans and creating humanoid animals. Splinter, the Turtles, and all the other mutants characters were formed this way. This also leaves possibilities for original chars open.
In the aftermath of World War II, ex-soldier Hamato Yoshi, feeling he had lost his honor, journeyed throughout Japan until he found the base of the Foot Clan, a band of Ninja assassins with a twisted vision of justice that entailed slaughtering all who they labeled corrupt. Sharing their views of the severe corruption of their government, Yoshi began training in Ninjutsu. While on a mission one night in Tokyo in 1957, Yoshi found himself hanging off the edge of a tall building, his enemy a few feet below him, hanging on with a rope wrapped tightly around Yoshi's ankle. Unable to break free, the Ninja felt like his ankle was about to snap. Suddenly, a young rat climbed out onto a window edge, smelling the food on the enemy's breath. It became apparent the man was terrified of rats, for he let go and fell to his death in fear of the rodent. Yoshi was so pleased with the rat he adopted him as a pet and named him Splinter.
While on a trip to New York City in 1958 to chase a hit that fled, Yoshi brought along Splinter, who managed to escape his cage and got lost in the sewers. After finishing off his hit, Yoshi realized Splinter had escaped, and finally retrieved him by doing a little whistle song that always caused the rat to come running and jump up on his shoulder. However, he noticed the rat was covered in some sort of green filth. He gave him a bath, but soon noticed the rodent had grown slightly.
Over the next few years, Splinter did not change very much in appearance, but he became a great deal more intelligent, as Yoshi soon realized. By watching television, Splinter learned to understand human language, and eventually, he learned to read and even speak. They concluded that the slime covering him prior to his transformation must have been some sort of toxic waste with genetic altering properties. Of course, they kept it a secret, and whenever someone else was around, Splinter acted like a normal rat. Though, some pointed out that he had surpassed the normal lifespan of a rodent.
Splinter had never fully agreed with the concept of killing the corrupt, and eventually, Yoshi came to see this, as did his new wife, Yukie. He had hoped to gain his honor back, but then realized he had never been farther from it. So, he approached the Clan Master, Oroku Naratsu, with his concerns and resignation. The Clan Master scoffed, claiming the only way out was through death, and a battle ensued. In the end, Yoshi was successful, killing Naratsu, though he had not intended to take his life. The Clan then gave Yoshi the option of becoming the new Master, which he declined.
Naratsu's young son, Saki, swore vengeance against Yoshi. Fearful for his beloved wife and pet, Yoshi took them to America, returning to New York City. They rented an apartment, and tried to start a new life. Yukie could not become pregnant, but they still lived happily for nearly twenty years, viewing Splinter as their son. Over that time, Yoshi taught Splinter all about Ninjutsu, although at the time, the rat was unable to physically perform the more complex moves.
In the 1980s, tragic events revealed Oroku Saki had assumed command of the Foot Clan -- he had created a significant presence of the Foot in America, and they finally tracked down Yoshi, Saki killing him and his wife and thus completing his quest for revenge. Horrified and grief-stricken, Splinter threw himself at Saki, thrashing at his face with his teeth and claws. He grabbed the rat and threw him out the window -- it was raining out, and Splinter's fall was slightly cushioned by a puddle, but then the water washed him away down a sewer grate.
For weeks Splinter roamed the sewers, until one day he was thrown into a large crate with other rats. There were other crates full of rats as well, and they were all hauled out of the sewers, into trucks, and delivered to a laboratory. These rats were used for various science experiments, and Splinter was terrified they would dissect him if he revealed his advancements, so he remained quiet.
Eventually, they began experiments on Splinter, and he was shocked when he began to grow again. Soon he was the size of a short human, and realized other animals had been turned into humanoids as well -- they were meant to be programmed as soldiers so that human deaths on the battlefield would be minimal. Certain animals were created for certain tasks, and he soon noticed turtles and frogs being used to try and form a sort of animal Navy SEAL.
In 1991, one of the female turtles laid a batch of eggs, but only four survived. One hatched first, and the turtle inside was a tiny humanoid. He grew very quickly, and over the next week, the other three hatched.
Splinter saw an opening, and he used it, leading to a mass escape. He helped free all the mutants, and then gathered the four turtles, them being the only infants. He fled with them to the sewers, where he discovered a crumbling wall that led to the basement of an old building that had been long since sealed off. Splinter turned the basement into their new home, donning a disguise and going to the surface when necessary to get food, as well as various supplies from flea markets, yard sales, and junk yards. He would beg for money when necessary, but more often he'd find and fix things from junk yards and then sell them at the flea market.
He named the four turtles after some of the world's most famous artists, and began teaching them basic education out of old text books, as well as Ninjutsu. They were able to get an old TV to pick up the local channels, and watched the news every day -- a crisis struck the world as all the mutants that broke free spread about. Most went into hiding as well, but some were corrupted by their advanced abilities.
Splinter forced the Turtles to wait until they all turned fifteen, then allowed them to go to the surface and fight the evil mutants around New York City. Some of them had joined the Purple Dragons gang, and it was this gang that the Turtles fought most of the time. Casey Jones became a vigilante prejudiced against mutants, but changed his views after a few battles with the Turtles.
Over the next three years, waves of escalated crime came and went. When things were slow, the Turtles found various ways to earn money without giving away their secret, which they used to greatly improve the living conditions of their lair. They were able to attain cellphones, wireless internet, and sattelite television for the lair, all paid for by a bank account set up through Casey.
Now, the Turtles are eighteen, and most of the Purple Dragons are behind bars. However, news of their fighting styles has reached Oroku Saki in Japan. He brings the Foot to New York once again, now calling himself the Shredder, a metal mask covering the scars Splinter left on his face.
The game will pick up slightly before the Turtles first meet Shredder. Whatcha think? Anyone interested?
