Following concerns being raised in regards to the Department of Homeland Security’s Disinformation Governance Board, launched three weeks ago, the department is reportedly putting this project on a "pause."


According to The Washington Post, multiple employees working within the DHS said that the program is being "paused" just three weeks after its announcement.

On Monday, those with knowledge of the situation said that DHS decided to shut down the board. The following morning, Nina Jankowicz had drafted a resignation letter in response.

The Washington Post reported: "But Tuesday night, Jankowicz was pulled into an urgent call with DHS officials who gave her the choice to stay on, even as the department’s work was put on hold because of the backlash it faced, according to multiple people with knowledge of the call."

Groups working on mis-, dis-, and mal-information within the DHS have reportedly been suspended, with the board potentially facing cancellation pending a review from the Homeland Security Advisory Council. Jankowicz is reportedly evaluating her position within the DHS.

At least in this regard, it looks like Biden is backing away from a 1984 solution to his messaging problems.

Senate Democrats cancel 'disinformation' hearing after disastrous press around 'Ministry of Truth' czar​

According to a source, Senate Democrats were reluctant to have Jankowicz face questioning from Republicans, prompting them to scrap the event altogether.

A hearing that had Nina Jankowicz scheduled to testify was abruptly canceled after viral video showed the Biden disinformation minister bragging about being the "Mary Poppins of disinformation."

Senate Democrats planned to hold a hearing on "disinformation, information, and malinformation" on May 10, with Jankowicz, to discuss the creation of Biden's Disinformation Governance Board, which is called the Ministry of Truth by critics.

"They yanked it when the entire ‘disinformation board' blew up," a senior aide told the Free Beacon. "They realized there's no way they could reschedule without Nina Jankowicz being called to testify."

The hearing was scheduled since April and was cancelled because of negative press coverage of Jankowicz and the newly formed Disinformation Governance Board.

"The hearing would have been an opportunity for Republicans to question not only Jankowicz but also the creation of the board in the first place," the Free Beacon writes on the matter, noting that the Biden administration has been reluctant to answer any questions about why Jankowicz was given the position, especially with the knowledge that she had previously called the Hunter Biden laptop stop a "Russian influence op."
