It seems like normal life has mostly returned during the day, at least in Southern California but once the sun goes down things die down quickly.

It seems like bars and nightclubs are still the last places to re-open and those that have are no where near what they used to be 8n terms of crowds, vibe, etc. The cities seem to die down by 9 or 10 pm on weekends and 8pm on weeknights ( check Google traffic maps as evidence). While there are some exceptions, and some happening places, in general it seems like nightlife is the slowest thing to get back to normal.

I suspect "going out on the town" at night may never be what it used to be. Especially late at night.

Not saying it won't exist but just not the way it used to.

same

I see the same thing around my area
I wonder if the places I go are just full of old people like me and we are all just getting too old to stay out too late
OR
has rona just made everyone leery of going to crowds
all i know is that most of the bars and clubs around me are pretty dead after about 9 pm

Locally, the students are back. They outnumber the residents of our local city so the night-life is back in full swing, with the police paddy vans, the drunken behaviour, the fighting etc...

Every night is someone's 18th or 21st birthday, or engagement party, or Stag party, or Hen party. Usually, there are a dozen of those every evening.

Except for infrequent visits to the local theatre, in which case I approach from the back streets away from the nightclubs, I wouldn't go to our city after 8 pm. It is just mad - unless you are between 18 and 21 years old when it's all happening...

"Nightclubs" where I live (not far away) are open. When renard says "nightclubs", he means strip clubs.

I very much doubt renard goes to a nightclub just so he can sit alone, listen to music he doesn't know or like, and glare angrily at all the dancing interracial couples. ;)

Keep the coffin lid closed Barnabas and you won't notice.

Nightclubs are packed up here in the land of milk and honey. University students are back for both universities.

We have three (or perhaps four if I count the small Japanese university) and over 50,000 students...

Country is being taken over by the Bible thumping evangelicals that only will allow their kind of fun. Normal fun loving people are going to be blacklisted and family values will be forced down our throats while the powerful ‘religious right’ continue to have orgies and rape our kids at church behind closed doors.

The sooner religions die the better off the people of the world will be.

Yeah, we have waterloo university (UofW) and Laurier along with Conestoga College with countless campus'. We're probably well over the 50k mark and covid isnt stopping them from gathering.

We only had 15 new cases today. For a region with over a million that's not too bad.

But our students outnumber the locals. That's possibly too many. Leiden in the Netherlands is the only city in Europe that has a higher percentage of students as a ratio of the local population.

Went out to Texas Roadhouse last night with a group of friends and the place was packed... on a Wednesday. I saw no bodies lying in the streets but used masks were everywhere. :)
