The blaring of the music filled the club, the wild dancing lights lit up the dance floor. The crowd was larger than normal and the band thrived from their energy, playing full tilt. The lead singer was hitting all the high notes just right, the bassist filling the air with his haunting chords, the guitar player making his instrument talk to the crowd, the drummer hammered on the instrument making the sounds shake the floor. This was Infinity,a band that played whereever they could, traveling from town to town. They avoided big gigs in stadiums preferring smaller locations. Reasons being..Infinity was made up of what most people would call creatures of the night. The 2 larger males were werewolves or shifters able to change in the blink of an eye,the lead singer was a vampire as was the drummer. The weres also served as bodyguards during the daylight hours as the two slept, the vamps could be awake during the daylight but they were extremely vulnerable to any sudden attacks they would encounter.

The crowd cheered and called for another song as the present one ended, the lead singer smiled at them his stare making the women go wild. "We will be back in 15 minutes, thanks you."He shouted out to be heard. The other bandmates set their instruments down and they all left the satge together. The four men putting the smaller female drummer between them al in a close coccoon of protection. Why? Well their species was dying out, rogue vamps were always on the lookout for females to breed with. The group moved to the bar and ordered drinks to keep up the apperance of being somewhat normal, the weres actually drank theirs.

Kali Summers turned to let her midnight blue gaze travel over the crowd around them. Her short blue tipped black hair framed her pixie face. She was much smaller than her bandmates standing in at only 4 foot 10,her body was trimmed and toned. Pale features made her seem smaller. She chewed her lip as the crowd continued to call their name out. Something caught her attention from the back near the door, her eyes narrowed trying to see through the strobe lights flashing. the man she had seen was gone, she shook her head and told herself she was just imagining things.

Mathias looked at her and noticed her distraction,he leaned close to her ear,"Whats the matter,Kal?"he asked her as he looked around at the others. Kali shook her head and laughed. "Nothing..thought I saw someone but I was imaginging things."She said laughing the incident off as she stood moving back towards the stage.

Mathias and the others followed, his gaze looking around them quickly,he didnt like it when something was off and he definately felt something off tonight. They walked back up on the stage and lifted their instruments. The crowd went wild, when the first strings of the song began they fell silent. The tune floated over the crowd eeriely,Kali softly played on the drums but now she had a mic attatched to her head. Her soft voice floated out over the rhythm being played.

"I hear him calling me in the midnight light
Calling to me hearing my plight
I hear the echoes of his cries
Come to me,be with me,stay with me

She begins the first verse softly, hauntingly then several chords later the band goes wild the song takes off and Mathias takes over singing. They play for another 1 or so before the crowd begins to leave due to the closing of the club. The band packs their things and after getting paid load their van. They fill into the new Escalade,Kali feels eyes on them and she looks out the heavily tinted window,a shadow stands in the alley, watching them. She leans closer to the wiondow trying tog et a clearer picture of the man. The energy flowing from him, grabs her breath, she looks quickly at the others. They seem oblivious to her anxiety. The shadow is gone next time she looked out.

((Looking for a male rper to keep up with me..no one liners please..IM if interested..need someone to play the shadowy figure who is another vamp, seeing Kali and wanting her. Will be a battle of wills at first then the romance and lovestory will kick in.Dont expect sex right away i like to lead up to it.))

Perhaps it was cliche, but it really was a dark and stormy evening. The rumble of thunger seemed to echo down the steel canyons of the city, bringing grim warning of the storms that were only hinted at by the dull overcast skies that reflected the light from the city back down at it. The humans that made their way through the streets and alleys of their city were so wonderfully oblivious to the true nature of their lives. They existed as simple cattle, food for others, be it the blood for vampires, the flesh for werewolves, or the more exotic hungers of others...scubbi, inferi, and others beyond counting. They live their lives, not knowing what their place was in life.

He was known by many names, but the name that he had responded too most through the years was Kazar, but he'd picked that up in hungary, back when they'd refered to him as a Lideric Nanaday...the name for his kind had changed so much over the millenia, from the Lilitu of Babylonia to the modern title of Vampire...the humans named them and called them myth. But Kazar was real, as real and the flesh and blood of the woman he had drained in the alley. But even as she was inches from death, she still screamed rape instead of vampire.

He laughed and his mouth still had some traces of her blood. The warmth was still flowing inside him, a pleasing sensation as it crept along his six foot frame. His silver eyes seemed to sparkle from the afterglow of feeding. His dark clothing was caught by a gust of wind and his black duster blew back, giving the impression of a cape...and revealing the expensive, tailored suit that he wore. Black Jacket and slacks, rich red undershirt and a white tie with a golden pin set in it...he exuded wealth and sophistication, and of course he would, he was one of the last of the pure-blood, true born vampires. The turned scum were merely the product of feeding...poor feedings that allowed the prey to survive. His face warped into a mask of disgust at the thought of the turned. He'd never been such a fool as to leave one of those creatures to exist.

Kazar turned down another alley, avoiding the main concourses as he left the scene of his feeding, knowing that the body would be taken care of and considered just another senseless murder. But he didn't really care, he had other plans for the evening...but he didn't plan on taking this particular passage through the city, as he passed by a van. The window was heavily tinted, but the eyes of a vampire were far better than a simple human. He only glanced inside in passing, but his eyes lingered on the woman that was sitting there. She was attractive enough to draw the eye of a man, and a certain kind of woman...but that was not what made him look back to her and study her features. There was something about her, something that made his eyes trace her form...studing her for her aura. That of humans was weak and white...a feeble glow that seemed to fill them when he studied them. Turned vampires, they had that same white glow with a liberal amount of scarlet. Werewolves...they were filled with the earth tones much like the Gaia that they worshiped, browns and clays...but another full Vampire like him?

That aura was black and crimson...and as his silver eyes bore in on her, he could see that rare aura in all it's glory. He froze where he stood at the mouth of the alley, one hand stroking his short ice blonde hair in suprise. He was speachless, it had been so long since he'd seen another...another female at that.

Kali continued to look at the shadowy figure as Marek, one of the wolves drove them away from the club. It was still early for them and she did not want to return to their shared apartment. They had rented a top floor of a nearby highrise for 3 months. They never stayed longer than that in any one place. They had installed removable shutters on the inside of the rooms so no light could get in when they were up and about during daytime hours. She turned back to the group around her, remembering the days when they had all first came together. First a enemies, then friends, now they were a tight family unit.

"Listen,I am feeling a bit claustriphobic tonight. Still too early to go home, drop me off at the edge of the park."She said to Marek and received a frown at her words.

"What? You know we cant be alone in public, what if something happens."He growled low at her. Kali shook her head and gave him the DUH stare.

"Marek, you know I can take care of myself,I have been doing so for over 200 years."She purred at him knowing how irrated he got.

Mathias and Raphael just looked at each other, knowing when these two bickered they tried to stay out of it. Marek growled as he hit the brakes by the edge of the park, turning to look over the seat at her. "If your not back in one hour,I will come looking for you."he growled at her as she blew a kiss to the all as she slid from the SUV.

Kali stood watching as the suv sped away, knowing Marek would keep his word if she was late. She gave a soft laugh at his big brother overly protective attitude as she walked into the park. She loved coming here, the quiet and peacefulness was relaxing after they played. It seemed to be a world apart from the city hustle and bustle. She walked slowly among the flower gardens and towards the fountain, sitting along the cement wall of it.

She gazed into the waters as they shimmered in the moonlight, the calmness helping her to calm her own wild thoughts. Who was the man she had seen earlier, what did he want. She shook her head and jerked it around when a faint scent reached her nose. it was a scent she had never experienced except once in her long life. A pure blood was near. She let her eyes wander over the park, trying to find the source of the smell.

The shadows were long along the treeline and she stood, feeling suddenly vulnerable in the open. She felt her fangs drop as her defense mode kicked in. She cuold call to Mathias mentally but thought against it.Her eyes shifted from her normal midnight blue to a black onyx as her inner self emerged. She was so focused on the smell of the pure blood nearby she let her other guards down. The turned vamp hit her from behind and they tumbled to the grass, the turned vamp hissing and trying to get her throat.

Kali hissed back and managed to get a good grasp on him, hefting him up and over her small body. Shifting she twisted back onto her feet and crouched looking at the rabid vermin before her. She was ready for his charge, but his strength was what shocked her. He slammed into her sending her flying backwards. her body connected with the low cement wall surrounding a flower garden, she grunted and slid to the ground momentarily dazed.

Kazar followed the van. It wasn't exactly difficult, traffic was thick enough that he didn't need to do anything too flamboyant to pursue. Of course, when the white van turned a corner and pulled away he had no choice but to spring forward into the air above the heads of the docile humans who were walking with their heads down to avoid making eye contact with the others of the kind who they feared. He had leapt onto the brick facade of a building, his hand touching the masonry and sticking to it as though it were anchored in place. Peering through the dark he watched the van as it started to pull away, but then turn into the park. The pure blood continued to run along the wall, covered by the shadows and the bright display lights that flickered between him and the humans below he made excellent time reaching the park.

As he leapt down he caught sight of the van and calmly began walking towards it. He was shocked when the van stopped and the woman...the vampiress...got out. He froze in place and watched as she walked out, aprehensive. Could it be a trick? There were enough enemies of pure bloods that it wouldn't be beyond the realm of recoking that they'd captured a female and were using her as bait...but such a ploy was far too complicated for the savagery of the turned or the hatred of the hunters. No...she had to be free...

The female began to walk, and Kazan followed along behind, the distance was long, but he watched her with a keen eye. He walked along but stopped dead when the female froze and turned slowly. He could sense the change in her aura, she was wary. She could smell him. There was no use in hiding from her, if she could smell him, all she had to do would be to look for his aura and she would find him, but that ability was not an especailly common trait. Straightneing his tie and adjusting the collar of his jacket he began to stride towards her with as much calm as he could posess. He had the suprising feeling of nervousness as he walked towards her. It had been almost a century since he'd met another pure blood. Seven since he'd met a female.

He saw the aura too late to call out. One of the turned, this one barely more than a blood crazed savage. Of course, the blood of a pureblood was sweeter than a mere human...and it was far more powerful. The turned wanted blood, and the crazed attack told him that the vermin was hungry. He'd attacked so forcefully that he saw the female tossed aside and into a flower bed. The turned was quickly upon her...but the prospect of feeding on a pure blood had over ridden the vermin's good sense. Kazar leapt upon him, the smooth motion of his attack grabbed the turned and threw him through the air. The speed and strength of a pure blood was truly terrifying, the vermin was hurled through the air for almost fifty feet, crashing into the formidable trunk of a tree. Before he could even rise, Kazar was on him again, his hand grasking the turned's throat, squeezing hard and fast, bones snapping beneath his grip.

"You have miscalculated." He growled to the creature as his hand crushed the lesser creature's neck and left his head hanging at an unplesant angle. Dropping the body Kazar reached up and broke a tree limb, the crude stake was enough. As he plunged it into the fallen creature's heart, he was rewarded with the fading of the abominations aura from his sight, it was dead. Kazar stood and nodded, turning back to look at the girl, springing through the air to land in a crouch next to her dazed body.

"Are you alright? The vermin has been dealt with." Kazar said, kneeling outside of her arm's reach, he didn't want to threaten her into attacking him.

Kali shook her head to clear the fog, watching the late arrival dispatch the turned. He was the one she had scented,he was a pure blood. She eyed him warily as he landed back near her but at a safe distance. She managed to stand and her eyes scanned him quickly before they returned to their normal blue hue. Her fangs however did not receed yet. She was dwarfed by his size,he was larger than her companions.

"Yes,thanks. Im fine. A bit rattled but ok."She whispered to him, still eyeing him. the wind blew up around them and she could scent the other turned from her attackers group coming close. "I think we need to go,more are coming."She said as she turned her back to him and began to walk.

When she got far enough away from the park and the danger she stopped, looking upwards to the empty rooftops, with a backwards glance over her shoulder she crouched and then leapt. Her body shot up and with several well placed touches on the side of the building vanished over the top.She moved away from the edge wondering who he was and if he will follow.

Kazar saw the wary glint in the female's eyes, but he stood his ground and didn't recoil. As she stood up he examined her as best he could, but studied her eyes closest, the change from black to blue was something unknown to him. She was attractive, more so in person than he'd seen through the tinted window from a distance. She was petite, but the size of a pureblood had no bearing on their strength or ability, he knew that she would manage a fight if she felt threatened so he kept his distance.

As she spoke he knew that she was right, he couldn't smell them, but it was just good sense, turned that were that feral didn't travel alone...and that one must have attacked so quickly because it didn't want to share it's meal with it's kin. He turned and looked out, not seeing any auras yet, but not willing to bet that they would avoid purusuit if they did arrive. He followed the female, falling into step and towering over her as they walked, his eyes darting back and forth to watch for the approaching threats, it would not do well to fall victim to a turned now.

As they crossed the street and she sprung into the air, he watched her grace as she moved up the wall. He followed behind, his own leap bringing up into contact with the wall halfway up, his second sending him flying to the roofline and standing calmly on the gargoyle figurehead that decorated it. The wind caught and ruffled his long duster, and he pulled the garmet close, creating a sharp contrast to his pale skin and white hair. His silver eyes stared at her.

"I am Kazar...and I am a pure blood...I have not seen another in almost a century." He said as a way of introduction.

Kali watched as he crouched on the statue, the moonlight behind him. She heard his words and frowned. A century,he was far older than her then. She watched him closely, knowing one move out of the norm and she would defend herself. "Im Kali, that is the name I have used for almost 150 years. I was originally named Lailianna Terkosynski."She said in a soft voice.

" I am a pure,my mother and father somehow managed to conceive me. So legends tell of children being born to pure every tunring of the centuries."She spoke as she moved around the roof as if a caged animal. She stopped when she heard the fammiliar howl of Marek.

"Damn,I have to go."She spoke quickly to him, lifting her gaze to meet his. 'Come to the club tomorrow night."She spoke quickly and with a final look back vanished over the edge, knowing if he looked over it she would appear to have vanished.

Kazar watched the female...Kali...walking around the roof, moving as if she were wary that he would attack her on a whim. He couldn't blame her for being wary and cautious. Pure bloods rarely had a chance to meet others, the only vampires that they delt with were turned. Sniveling and sycophantic at best, savage attackers more than likely. He was about to speak again when the howl of a lycan cut through the night. Kazar turned and looked down at the street, cautious of what might be in store. He looked back and heard Kali speak, and saw her vanish from the roof.

"Meet you at the club? I think I can do that." Kazar said, slowly rising, whoever the Lycan had been...she must have known him. He looked back at the park, and dropped down into the alley, vanishing into the city himself, with a plan for the next evening that began with going to that club...and held no other steps beyond that.

Kali swooped across the rooftops anddown along alleys until she found who she was looking for,a very angry Marek. He glowered down at her from wolf form, his eyes yellow and enraged. She gave him a sorry look and began to walk up to the highrise they shared. He shifted as they walked inside and up the security elevator."Where the hell have you been. I scented a turned where you were. Are you okay?"he asked looking her over quickly.

Kali nodded and looked over at him as they rode the elevator upwards. "Yeah,Im fine. The turned was taken care ofby another.....pure blood."She spoke calmly looking away.

"WHAT!"Marek barked out as the doors slid open in front of their apartment doors. She moved inside and left the enraged were behind. She sighed when she saw Raphael and Mathias glance up at their entrance.

Mathias stood up quickly as he overheard her words of another pure blood. his hearing was a thousand times more acute than most. "Where is this Pure? Who is he?"He asked her quickly nervous that another had appeared to her.
Kali held up her hand at the flow of questions coming at her.She quickly became irritated at them all which seldom happened.

"He said his name was Kazar,he is old school, very old school."She said as she went to the fridge and pulled out a blood bag, nuking it in the microwave before pouring it into a glass.Finishing her drink she turned towards her room."he will be at the club tomorrow night. Now Im going to bed."She said and shut the door closing them out, they knew not to bother her when she got moody and shook their heads before moving off to their own rooms.

Kazar arrived at the nightclub the next night. Wearing another black suit and a rich purple shirt, his black tie and gold tiepin made him look a cut above the common club goers and partyers. He'd attracted more than a few glances, if not outright stares from some women who were less than pleased with their companions for the evening, but he didn't return their covetous looks. He was too interested in what the night might bring. As he reached the front of the line after several rather shabby looking guys had been turned away by the hulking bouncer...but the man was not foolish enough to turn away someone who looked as affluent as him. Kazar nodded and walked past, entering the club and wandering through the crowd, searching for Kali...not bothering with his aura...he'd know that face.

Kali stood backstage, her body dressed in low riding hip hugging black jeans, her top was a mid drift cut white tank top,her abs flexed as she got ready to go onstage with the rest of the band. Her hair spiked up and her face free of makeup, twirling her drumstick between her fingers she took a deep breath wondering if HE had come.

She listened as the owner introduced them, the crowd went crazy. She followed Marek and Raphael out and took her place behind her drums. Mathias followed last, she could not see the audience from the glare of the lights, but she felt him there. She closed her eyes and hit her sticks together counting out the beat before they broke into Paradise city. They played steadily for an hour the last song she moved from behind her drums and walked up next to Mathias. he dropped his arm around her and they bowed slowly. She took the mic from him and turned to bow to her bandmates while he took up behind her drums.

Her voice began and they went back to an older song from Bonnie Tyler, she began to sing Holding out for a hero. Her voice strong and sure as she moved in time with the music. The first part of their show they always played old songs but the second part was all their own songs. She finished the song and took a bow before following her bandmates off stage. She stood in the shadows as she caught her breath, feeling him near but also something else. She looked around.

She felt the many different presences of turned ones, too many to be a normal occurance. She looked around for the others and saw them at the bar. Chaos erupted as the fight began. These turned didnt feel like the ones she was used to. Theses were stronger, faster. She felt one behind her and she ducked as he flew past her head. Twisting against the mob rush for the door she tried to find them. her senses went akilter in the panic. The adrenaline from the crowd rushing the door flooded over her.

"Mathias....Marek...!"She tried to shout over the crowd as a hand grasped her throat yanking her back. She staggered and twisted against the hand. The man holding her was as evil as she had ever felt. His eyes bore deeply into hers as he leaned close and ..sniffed her.

"Yesss..."he hissed like a snake from behind his fangs. "You are the one we have been sent to find."He spoke to her as he lifted her up off the floor. Kali reacted and her eyes went black. Her body seemed to radiate energy as she lifted a hand and slammed it against his face feeling the nose crumble under her punch. He roared in anger and gave her a hard shake, his own eyes going blood red in front of her.

Kali felt herself move as she bared her fangs and went for his throat, breaking the hold he had on her throat. Her fangs sank deeply and she ripped a gaping wound in his skin. He dropped her and staggered back, holding his hand up to the wound. Kali felt sick as she tasted his foul blood watching him begin to laugh. He removed his hand and she stared the wound had healed. His hand struck out and sent her flying over the heads of several fleeing patrons.

Kali landed across the bar with a sick thud, her stomach threatened to rebel against the tainted blood she had swallowed as the man headed towards her, staggering to her feet she faced him down.

The club was close...and the tainted were numerous. Kazar didn't like it one bit. They never grouped in such a large number, they always stayed in smaller packs, avoiding gatherings of others or humans. But the lure of two pure bloods? A male and a female pureblood at the same place? The prospect of what a new bloodline could provide would be far beyond the mere hope of feeding on a pureblood. But Kazar listened to the music, forcing himself not to cast anything more than the bare glances at the tainted who were surrounding him at the bar, all of them dressed like club goers, both men and women. He knew that things could turn ugly quite quickly. He'd been alive a long time, millenia in fact, but he was not foolish enough to think that he could take on a club full of tainted on his own...but he wasn't going to go about and provoke them. His eyes remained glued on Kali as she played the drums, he was struck by how young her aura was...she couldn't be more than three hundred...so very young.

The sets passed quickly, and he saw her escorts...the Lycans he had heard, leave the stage and head for the bar. He rose from where he sat and started to walk across the crowded room to talk to Kali at last, but there was something worrysome in the air. The tainted had tensed, something was about to happen. He began to push faster through the crowd, but he didn't move fast enough. A fight broke out, and he could see the form of a tainted grasping at Kali, he was about to leap to the stage when he saw her bite into the vermin's neck. The disgust that he felt at that was beyond words, the blood of a turned...it was a putrid thing. Even a human could tell there was something wrong with the blood of a turned vampire. He started forward again when he saw Kali flung through the air to the bar.

He abandoned all pretense. He leapt through the air, landing on the mirrored finish bar lightly and kicking out at a turned who had reached for Kali's body. He reached down and grasped a bottle, swinging it into the face of another. He needed to get her out of here! He spun where he crouched as the tainted crossed the floor, his face opening and his fangs bared in open threat to the vermin.

Kali stood behind the bar ,Kazar stood in front of her. She swayed and felt like her stomach was on fire. She loooked around and spied her friends all engaged with the turned. She hissed from behind her fangs as one turned got brave and tried to tackle her from the side of the bar,her hand snaked out quickly sending it through his chest and out his back. Pulling it back she shook off some of its blood.

"GET HER OUT OF HERE"! Mathias shouted to the pure blood in front of Kali as he took down one turned. They were out numbered and his first thought was her survival.

Kali screamed NO and vaulted over the bar trying to get to her friends. She gasped as pain flared through her arm, looking down she saw the taloned hand of another turned buried deep into her skin. She twisted but he refused to let go,yanking her close his fangs descended towards her neck. The pain that surged through her body caused her scream to pierce the room. Images from the turned flooded her memories, his life, his turning and the underlying vileness. Her body sagged in its arms as he dug his fangs deeper into her body.

Kazar knew that it was a loosing fight, even for four Lycans and a pair of pure bloods, there were too many of the vermin to kill all of them. His hand darted out and grapsed another, tossing the creature away. He smashed his other fist into the chest of another and crushed it's ribcage. They needed to run, they needed to escape, prudence was more important than pride. The scream of the Lycan didn't need to be repeated as Kazar reached out to grab Kali and escape through the fire door, but he saw one of the turned grab her.

The sight of it sinking it's fangs into her filled him with rage, he lunged forward and grabbed the creature, his arm around it's neck, his other around it's waist. The motion that he used to pull it off of Kali was so violent that a snap could be heard as it's back was broken. Kazar threw the body away, grabbing Kali and pulling her to her feet, supporting her with his arm as he pulled her along down the bar to the fire door.

Kali felt Kazar's arms go around her as she sank towards the floor, her vision blurred. She tried to look around for her friends, her vision refused to cooperate and she shook her head. Her good arm reached up to wrap around his neck as he hauled her out the fire door. She felt the night air rush over them as they burst out into the night.

She grimaced as the pain flooded through her arm and stomach. her throat felt as if it had been torn out. She tried to speak but it only came out in a rasp. "Hurts."Was all she could manage before she gave into the poisoned sleep.

He was practically dragging her along, as she began to stumble he grabbed her shoulders and then bent down, lifting her off her feet and carrying her like a bridegroom. He turned a corner and leapt up the building, carrying her away from the street and the easy reach of the purusuing Turned. He leapt from building to building, looking down at her ocassionally with worry. He'd never seen what happened to a pure blood who'd been bitten by a Turned. As he lept he turned his path away from the seedier parts of town, instead heading towards the upscale part of town. He leapt from one rooftop to a balcony, slowing once he became comfortable that they weren't being followed.

It was fifteen minutes of leaping before he reached the high-rise that had balconies set on several levels. Leaping up the face he finally arrived at one. Stepping onto the exposed balcony, he walked through the sliding door and into his home. It was large and set on two stories. An open upper loft for a bedroom was above the kitchen and dining area. The rest of the floorspace was a large open space with a few chairs and bookshelves set against the walls. He could afford much more, but living modestly was the best way to avoid the hunters who seemed so obeseesed with the wealthy vampire CEO.

He leapt up to the sleeping area, laying Kali down on the large King sized bed. He immedealy leapt down to his kitchen and returned, retriving a bag of blood and holding it. The blood was still cool, but he didn't want to take the time to properly warm it.

"Kali...Kali, you need to feed..." He said, holding the bag to her lips.

Kali heard his hurried words, but her mind argued with them. She turned her head away from the blood he held to her lips. Her eyes opened, unfocused to look up at him. Her head pounded and her stomach burned from the swallowed tainted blood. Her throat felt as if it was gone. She tried to remember what had happened and where she was now,the images of her friends fighting filled her head. They needed her!

She felt the low growl begin deep in her chest and her body twisted quickly and she managed to flip from the bed. Her eyes went from blue to black as she crouched looking at Kazar. Her mind fighting with the bad blood made him seem like one of the bad guys. She hissed low as her fangs emerged. Her nails grew into sharp talons as she prepared to jump.

Her feature became feral, her body tensed like a caged animal. All rational gone for the moment. Letting loose a loud cry she launched herself at Kazar, her body colliding solidly against his much larger one.

Kazar felt a rising concern when Kali didn't feed, either knowingly or on reflex. That was a dangerous moment, there were many things that could be done on instinct, feeding was one. He lowered the bag and reached down, turning her head to the side and examining the marks on her neck, they were healing slowly..far more slowly than was healthy. He pulled the blood bag away from her lips and sighed. He was about to stand when Kali stirred and leapt up. He could see her eyes turn black and flash as she turned at him, hissing. Her nails changed to talons and she looked terrifying.

"Kali? Kali! Focus your mind, fight the Turned taint." He said in a low and forceful voice, but he couldn't get through her haze before she had lunged at him, her mind was clearly hazed by the taint. Her body struck his and he was taken off balance by her petite form striking him with such strength that he fell back. His hand reached out and grabbed her throat, holding her away as he tried to keep her still, his silver eyes seeing the dark spheres that her own had become.

***posting a reply while I have some quiet time from nephews..lol***

Kali felt the hand grasp her throat and her foggied mind tried to fight it,she struggled until a familair voice filled her head. She heard Kazar telling her to fight it. She gave a loud cry before tearing herself from his grasp and falling to her knees on the floor. Her body shook as she tried to overcome the taint. Her head pounded at unfamiliar voices talking in her head telling her to do awful things, then Kazar's own telling her to fight it. Her body blared in searing pain and her stomached cramped.

She felt her stomach heave and a vile blackish stream erupted from her throat and mouth, her body began to convulse from the intensity of it. Her small body spasmed on the floor as the vileness spewed from her body. Her head jerking back and forth, her gasps and cries filling the room. Finally what seemed like forever the pain began to subside. She pulled herself up to her knees, trying to stand. Her knees refused to work and she sank back to the floor.

She tried to speak but her wounds now began to hurt and bleed freely, her body slowly bleeding out since the tainted blood was gone. She knew this was not a good thing when she reached a hand up to touch her neck, coming away covered in her own blood now. "She managed a soft broken whisper. "Kazar...help...me."

Kazar was horrified at the sight before him, as Kali renched herself from his grip, falling aside to her knees. He was wary that she might try to strike at him again...but the sight of her voiting up the putrid bile that was laced with the tainted blood she had consumed. It shook him deeply, but he remained as calm as he could manage. He bent down as she shuddeed and tried to stand, grasping the younger pureblood in his arms and guiding her back to the clean linnen of his bed. It was a stumbling shuffling walk that he had to carry her towards the end. As he pulled away, the scent of blood was thick in the air. He almost ignored it as being a lingering scent of her vomited taint...but then he saw the crimson stain spreading across the white bedsheets from her neck, and her terrified eyes looking at her bloody hand. His eyes widened and ke knelt close to her, he saw that her neck hadn't been bitten, there was a long slice down the artery...

...and it wasn't healing like it should. She needed blood, something more potent than human blood. He knelt close to her, one hand grasping her head and lifting her up, cradling her body against his. He guided her mouth to within inches of his throat...it was a desperate play, but it was the only card he had left to play.

"Kali...Kali, I need you to listen, feed on my blood. Feed and replenish your strength." He told her, presenting his throat to her, and waiting for the feel of her fangs to sink into his neck and begin to drain his life from him to save her.

Kalil heard his words, they seemed to be whispered from afar, her eyes tried to focus as he lifted her body close to his. His skin was pressed to her lips and the call of fresh blood assailed her senses. She flicked her tongue out, trying to desensitize the area where her fangs would penetrate but she wasnt sure if it would work on a Pure or not.

She felt the call of his blood, drawing her closer to him as she opened her mouth. Her fangs descended quickly and with no warning they plunged deeply into his skin. The initial rush of his pure blood almost sent her reeling as it slid down her throat. Her body grasping for it,her hands tightened on his arms as she fed. Her mouth locked tightly against his skin, she felt as if she was drinking liquid fire.

She felt the call to continue feeding but after a few minutes she had to pull back, she could not drain him. To do so would result in not only his death but her chance at life also. With a whispered cry she yanked back and slid off the bed,his blood staining her mouth as she stood by the bed looking at him. Her eyes black as night,no longer the red of the evil. She gasped as his blood surged through her body, healing her wounds and her soul.

Her hand came up to touch her rapidly healing neck, then her mouth. Looking down at her blood cover fingers from feeding off of him."How?..."She managed to ask before the overload of his blood hit her,she staggered slightly as her eyes clouded. Images from his memories flooded through her mind, seeing what he had been through. Seeing things up until their meeting. She could hear and feel the turmoil he had been through, her stoamch knotted and her heart lurched with his pain. She sank to one knee, grabbing at the bedside.

"What is happening?"She managed to gasp out before her body slumped against the bed. Her eyes still looking at him as she felt paralized.

Kazar looked down at Kali as she laid back on the bed, looking weak and demoralized, but alive and healing. He was weakened considerably from her feeding on him, but the blood that ran through him was strong and ancient. It was the best he could manage to help her, but his vision went slightly blurry as he felt her feeding on him. He could catch brief flashes of the memories that were being passed onto him, lingering in his mind like snap-shots. He was back on the Tigris...thousands of years before. It was night on the river and the immaculate barge he was on was tended too by barely clad slaves rowing him down one of the ancient canals of the great city of Babylon. Above him the starry skies shone down on him in their glittering infinity. As he looked he could see the intricate mudbrick and stone structures of the anceint metropolis. His eyes settled on a massive ziggurat near the river. It was illuminated by thousands of torches and burning lanterns...letting the green foliage that covered it and the rare plants on it's sides clear enough to his eyes. They were the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

He blinked hard and forced away the vision, sinking down to sit on the bed beside her. She was bloody, and she looked terrible, but her wounds were healing quickly. He'd need blood of his own, some from his stores not a fresh kill. Kazar's eyes saw the anguish on her face and he reached out softly to touch her arm.

"It's alright Kali. You're safe now. The Turned tried to capture you. You bit one, that was a problem...but another bit you to try and feed. That's where the pain is coming from. I brougth you to my apartment. You need to rest, and possibly feed on me again when I've replenished my blood." Kazar said, his voice direct and buisnesslike, but his eyes still worried.

"How do you feel?" He asked finally.

Kali felt like she had been run over by not one but two mack trucks as she shifted to sit up against the headboard. Her eyes turned to look at him,she gently moved her head testing for any pain. There was hardly any now. "I havent felt this rough in many years."She said softly moving her legs so she could sit up on side of the bed.

"I owe you for your help and kindness."She spoke softly barely above her usual whisper. Her eyes went wide as the memories of the fight came back to her quickly. "I have tpo go back! I have to find my friends."She cried out as she stood swaying slightly.

She felt the empitiness in her hcest, she could not sense them. Normally she could feel her companions but now she couldnt. Her heart clenched at the thought of them being dead or worse. Turned. If they had been turned then it was her responsibility to make sure they were freed. She wondered if she could do it,kill one of her closest friends.

Kazar leaned back from Kali and watched her, she looked like she was run ragged and exhausted. She needed rest and more blood, not just his own. He slowly stood to retireve more blood for her to feed, but was stopped short as he heard her cry out for her firiends. Kazar looked at her with a wary gaze. He had long since avoided entanglements with other beings...it was simpler to rely on ones self, but Kali wasn't like him...she had people she relied on.

"It's a dangerous choice to go back Kali, weak as you are. You need to feed before anything else...then we'll worry about your friends. If you go back now, you'll be at greater risk." Kazar said, his eyes gazing at Kali with a strange amount of concern...she was attractive, she was female...but she was so different from him. He usually spent his time concerned with his own survival, and now here was another kindred who cared about others. He turned leapt down and retrived several blood bags, returning to her and holding them out.

"Feed. You need it. Then we'll talk about going after your friends."

Kali knew he spoke true, her hand reached out for the blood bag. She grazed his hand and she felt as if she had been shocked. She pulled back quickly and raised the bag to her lips, fangs breaking into the plastic easily. She fed quickly and made sure she had cleaned her mouth. She turned and looked around them, she was amazed at where he lived.

"Your place is amazing. But where are your body guards, protectors?"She asked him puzzled that a pure traveled and lived alone. She walked around the bedroom, gently touching old world statues and looking at pictures she knew were older than she was.

"I dont understand, how the turned were much stronger than before. usually we can win without much injury."She spoke softly turning to look at him. Her eyes normal and filled with worry. She held others more importantly than her own safety.
