night fun in kentucky

just seeing if there's any couples in or around central kentucky that would like to get together for some fun out on the town. looking for those who wouldnt mind going out for drinks, bars, clubs or anything else fun, maybe even something even more fun if things progress. were in our 20's and bored stiff most nights, looking to get out and live a little.

solo here, but still manage a good time or two on occasion.

lexington is a great place, but sometimes you have to dig around for the fun. if you've gotten that down, there's always something to do.

It's been awhile since I did the Lexington scene, so where does every go for a good time. Harry's or Oscar's over on Tates Creek are two good spots (one is with Malone's, the other Sal's).

Is Two Keys still the place or too college? A1A never did it for me either. I am a non-smoker but I am sure the smoking ban has not helped the night life in Lexington.

as far as the smoking ban, its really hurt the night life, two keys is still there and going strong from what we hear. not really sure of the others, weve not gotten out much and tryin to find some people to go out and have fun with.

Malones, Oscars, Sals, and Harry's are all the same ownership, and universally good, though expensive.

AIA opened under new management and a new name. Two Keys is a staple, and will always own the late 20's early 30's crowd. The Dame is a great spot for shows, and their business hasn't really changed much, and there's the Melodeon nearby for good eats. Busters is also a good candidate for fun.

'The Grand' opened recently to house a lot of the fratboy crowd, brought to you by Marikka's, in place of their shop in Hartland.

As for the south end, Squire's Tavern is inexplicably popular, and in southland Marikka's is a really good spot.

Of course, as often as not I'm playing trivia at TGIF's on Nicholasville road.

see ive lived in lexington for 16yrs and didnt know that much about the nights spots here, lol. well have to see how things pan out in the other thread a lil. would still prefer a large group gathering kinda deal. Now if we can only get them interested to actually go, lol.

going out and having fun is pretty much what i do. there
aren't a lot of places in lexington that i haven't been,
i've been living here since '93. there really is no excuse
for being stuck at home in this town on the weekend, so
long as you accept you WILL be hassled by cops for no
reason on a regular basis if you look like you might
a) be a college student and b) be having fun.

live by man-o-war, party downtown. but since this
really hasn't been discussed, what kinds of things are
you and the missus looking to get into? drinks and shows?
pool? swimming? (i know of two weekly pool parties in
town .. ) movies (boring!!)? what's the interest?

basically interests are, going out having drinks, like movies, she loves to go dancing i dont but i like the atmostphere, swimming is a plus, basically we like going out to have fun as long as it doesnt kill the check book lol. ive been trying to coax her to let her wilder side come out and play but were still unable to do much do to finances.

dancing is one of those things i do on a regular enough basis .. if you want to just drop her off some evening with someone who'll take good care of her ...

money is always the problem .. there's enough to do cheap .. i prefer bars to movies, which are *far* too expensive. knowing bartenders is a good thing.
