*Ding!*

The elevator door opened and Veronika walked into it. It was time to go to work and she didn’t want to be late. The manager of the place always got annoyed if she wasn’t 5 minutes early, perhaps because she was one of the more requested girls. She had several regulars, and typically she brought the joint a lot of revenue.

It wasn’t a bad gig, being a stripper. None of the guys were allowed to touch her as it wasn’t one of those skeezy places where you could pay for use of the backroom for some extra services. Every now and then a patron would get handsy, but the manager was really good about protecting the girls. That was one of the reasons she had chosen that particular place; it had a reputation for treating its girls really well, so the women were more enthusiastic and enjoyed their work more. A lot of customers appreciated it and could see the difference.

Not to mention, she earned a very generous amount tips on top of her regular pay. She was saving up for a downpayment on a house someday, so she was diligent in managing her money well. Of the careers she could have picked, this one was the best she could have gotten with no college education. All she had to do was dance on stage and do lap dances.

She thought she heard footsteps approaching quickly as the doors started to close so she held her arm out to stop them, popping her head out to check if there was anyone who needed to get on.

"Hey, hold the elevator please!"

He shouted as he jogged down the hallway. When he got to the elevator, he saw her. "Oh... thank you." He walked into the elevator and ran his hand through his white hair. He looked at her and smiled. This was the hottie of the place, he has only seen beauties like her on T.V and porn of course... he shook his head and smiled at her. "Um, going down?" He reached to press the button and stole glances at her.

Wyatt, was 26 worked as a gaming designer. He often liked to spend his nights with his coworkers at the high end Gentlemans club downtown. Wyatt was a bit of a high roller in the club, but there was a girl there at the club he did fancy and he did become a regular of hers. He could not wait to see her tonight. But here he was... in the same elevator as another beautiful woman. He could not help but to keep stealing glances at her every chance he got. Smiling at her if she noticed. It seemed like an eternity for the elevator to get to the lobby, but he did not mind.

"Oh, yes please," she had answered softly, giving him a polite smile before looking away awkwardly.

Veronika knew exactly who he was. Why shouldn't she? He was one of her most loyal regulars after all. Every time he came to the club, he always requested her specifically and always tipped generously. He had never attempted to touch her, always keeping his hands to himself respectfully. All in all, he was the perfect client.

What made things awkward for her was that they lived in the same building right next to each other. She didn't think he would ever figure out who she was seeing as she changed her appearance at the strip club to keep her anonymity, but there was always that little fear in the back of her mind. While he was the model client at the club, she didn't know enough about him to make a judgement call about whether he would be just as respectful to her outside of work if he knew that she was the one who often had her ass in his lap.

The elevator ride was silent, and she could feel his gaze on her every now and then. It was hard to resist the urge to look at him, and there was once or twice that she snuck a peek, only to accidentally meet his eyes. She felt a bit embarrassed at the eye-contact, so she quickly looked away with slightly rosy cheeks.

When the elevator got to the ground floor, she nodded at him and said, "see you around," before exiting and heading to her car. It was time to head off.

Wyatt could only wave and smile at her awkwardly as she left. When she was a distance away. "Oh, yeah, see you later..." People trying to board the elevator looked at him and just smiled. Trying not to laugh at him. He got off the elevator and headed to his own car. He thought to himself as he headed there, getting his keys from his pocket. He knew she lived next door to him, yet, he has barely ever said a word to her. She was always so busy, always on the move. He always thought she worked as a nurse or something that was always having her on the move, but she was sooo cute. Almost like she was straight out of an anime...

He blinked and before he knew it, he was with his buddies at work and they talked and worked the day away. They just knew once night fell, they would be partying it up at the Gentlemen's club, and he would be with his dream woman... Wyatt just sighed as he drank some redbull and typed away, writing things down. But he kept her in his mind and could not wait to see her and have her company for the night.

FF to the club

The music was bumpin, the place was packed with people. Wyatt strolled in and shook hands with a few of the bouncers and what looked like a man in a suit, he walked over to where his buddies where and joined them for now. They were already drinking and watching the dancer on stage.

She was hardly recognizable when she was in her stripper persona with her dark hair, sexy glasses, and temporary tattoos. The glasses were secured to her head so that they didn't fall off while she was dancing, and the men seemed to love it. They called her Nova when she was here, and that was who all the clients knew her as.

That night, she was running a couple shows, a few hours in the dancing tubes, and there were likely a few lap dances she would get requested for in-between. Another reason a lot of the men liked her was that she was very flexible, could belly-dance, and worked the pole like she was born on it. Well, that and the fact that her body was smoking hot. Her breasts were large and perky, her ass much the same way. She had two plump cheeks that hugged the pole in the most provocative way.

That was what she was doing at the moment, spinning and sliding up and down the pole in a mesmerizing fashion. She had spotted Wyatt coming in, but she made no indication that she had noticed other than a little smile that curled her lips.

Wyatt was mesmerized watching Nova, he heldl his glass of whiskey and smiled as his buddies laughed at him. They knew he fell for her hard and always made fun of him for it. Wyatt ignored them as he walked up to the main stage and sat down. He spent a lot of money in this place, so he was treated like a high roller, money talks in this place and town. Wyatt never took advantage of that, but he loved spoiling Nova. He liked to think that she was using the money to pay for collage or help her family, that thought only made him smile. He ignored anyone that came to him, women mostly trying to get his attention and money. But he was only here for Nova.

It was like time stopped for the club, and only Nova was there, and unaffected by the time freeze. She just moved with such grace and fluidity, the pole was her partner, one that he wished he was... but watching her spin and climb and slide on that tool... was so sexy. He noticed she was not making eye contact with him, was she playing hard to get? He just grinned as he went into his pocket and pulled a stack of bills out, he sat back and just watched as he sipped his whiskey. He held in his other hand a bill, he had it folded so the amount was unknown, he tapped it to the beat of the music as he could not take his eyes off Nova.

She noticed him moving closer to the seat he usually occupied, and she winked at him to let him know that she noticed and would be approaching at some point. Of course she liked that he was generous in tips, and his good looks certainly didn’t hurt, but what she liked about him most was that he was always friendly and respectful. He never harassed her or did anything to make her feel unsafe.

Nova finished her song with finesse and when it was done, she sauntered down the stairs of the stage and approached him, squatting down in front of him with her legs wide. Her arms rested casually on her lily-white thighs. Rather than sit down beside him or sit on his lap, she preferred being provocative while still maintaining a little space.

“Hey there, Wyatt,” she greeted him in a friendly purr. “How are you feeling tonight?”

Everything Nova did, she did with intention. He loved how her mind worked, well what he knew of her, and that was not much. He could not help but to notice that he felt some familiarity every time she got close to him though, what was it about her? He saw her wink and knew she noticed him. The song was over and he saw her leave the stage, coming down the steps, he quickly went into his pocket and popped a mint in his mouth and slicked his hair back. He saw the other patrons looking at him, thinking how weird he was acting. But all that faded when she got close to him, he quickly stood up and clapped for her, but she squatted down next to him, leaving space, he looked down at her and blushed a bit. "Uhh... Miss Nova... I am...umm, I am ok, I was feeling a bit lonely..." He heard his buddies laughing from tables at him and he shook his head. "Lonely, but now that you are here... I am feeling much better. Um, do you want to go to a booth, get a drink?" He held in his hand a folded bill and smiled at her. "That is of course, only if you would like. I don't want to keep you from making money Miss Nova, I can wait all night." He did not want to take his eyes off her, so he reached clumsily to his drink.

He loved hearing her voice, even when it was drown out by the music. Her voice was that of an Angel, it seemed to calm his nerves, made him relax a little.

"How are you Miss Nova" He said that as he leaned in closer to her so she could hear him with out him having to shout as the next dancer came onto the stage.

“I’m doing okay,” she answered evasively with a practiced smile. To be honest, she wasn’t doing so well outside of work, as an ex of hers kept threatening to come over to “talk some sense into her.” Still, she didn’t want her personal problems spoiling the mood and bringing them both down. This was supposed to be a place where they could both escape reality for a while, after all.

Technically she was on her lap dance time, but no one had ordered a lap dance yet, so they usually had the girls mingle until they get a request.

“I can’t have you feeling lonely again, now can I? Besides, I could use a drink.” The woman answered, straightening up to a standing position. She then wrapped her arms around one of his and leaned herself against him as she led them over to one of the booths.

The waiter came over and acknowledged them both, asking what they wanted to order. Nova ended up getting a Pina Colada before the waiter glanced at his cup, “and another whiskey for the discerning gentleman?”

Wyatt smiled back her. He loved seeing her smile, he did not know if it was a geniune one, or just for the boys here. But he imagined he made her smile. "Aww, Miss Nova, thank you. You always make my night, you look so beautiful and your dance was amazing." He walked with her and frowned seeing his buddies cheering him on and yelling things out "Like take her VIP and fuck her man!" He just sighed and walked to the booths in the back of the place. It was less noisy back here and he could hear her so much better. He let her sit first and he scooted into seat. When the waiter came up he nodded after she told him that he wanted whiskey. He looked to her. "I never feel alone when I am with you Miss Nova, money or not. I am more interested in you." He than shook his head. "Sorry, that probably sounded very creepy" He took a big sip of his whiskey and set the glass down. He never liked to get buzzed or drunk here in the club, she did not want to see him like that..

"Why are you feeling only okay? Anything I can do to help?" He looked to her and smiled, his hand close to hers, but he dared not to touch her hand. He knew the rules.

Nova liked him, but his friends were idiots. They weren't even spared a glance as the supple beauty accompanied him away from the noise and the hubbub.

She didn’t find his words to be creepy, but she did feel a little bad for him. He seemed to really idolize and adore "Nova," as though she was the perfect woman and he wanted to be close to her. Odds were that they would never spend much time outside of this place, unfortunately. Veronika didn't like mixing her work life and her personal life, as usually bad situation like the one she was currently dealing with at home happened as a result.

"You're sweet, but I'm not sure there's anything you can do for me at the moment," Nova gave him a reassuring look and then looked more thoughtful. "Although... let's just say that a past mistake is coming to take a chunk out of my ass. As a result, I may not be able to work for the next week or so." It was mostly because her ex knew which apartment complex she had moved to, but didn't know the apartment. He had texted her that he was going to stake out the place to find out which apartment was hers, so she didn't feel safe coming in or out for fear that he might find out which door was hers.

He listened intently to her. Even though they were in a strip club, Wyatt didn't just see her as a stripper. He saw her as a person as well. But when she told him that she was having problems, the hero in him wanted to come out and help. He looked into her eyes. And could not believe he said this. "Miss Nova, I can be your Knight in shining Armor... but I am more a Wizard, cause I like to read and blow shit up... but umm, if you need help, I can always be of assistance..." He smacked himself in his mind. Who was he to be offering help, he was no one. He was not his in game character, he was just a normal dude.... He sipped his drink even though it was empty.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to be like that. Do you want to talk about it? I mean, if I could help, than maybe I can."

He hoped he made up for being foolish.

She chuckled, "You're sweet. I'm afraid my renter's insurance doesn't cover "shit blowing up," so I'm going to have to decline that offer. though" Nova took a drink of the Pina colada that was delivered by the waiter. He had occasionally mentioned that his job involved working with games, so she imagined that was where his mind went most of the time.

There was a sigh before she shrugged, "it's fine. Thing's will work themselves out eventually. What about you? How's your job going?" It wasn't the most tactful change of subject, but it would do. Another sip of her drink was taken as she waited for his answer.

He chuckled at her comment. "Yea... I didn't ask if you had renters insurance, I said I cast FIREBALL!" He laughed and made a explosion sound and motion with his hands. "And poof, your problem goes away. Just a flick of the wrist and a spell component and you got yourself a fireball." He saw the waitress come and fill his cup again and a large ice cube was added. He looked at it and took a sip. "Next time, bring me a mountain dew please, I don't want to get drunk, got work in the morning. And bring Miss Nova whatever she wants, you know the routine." Wyatt sat back and sipped his drink again. "My job, its going great, can't really complain. I made a game of fantasy hack and slash, shoot em up goodness. Just getting the bugs out is a pain in the ass and those idiots over there are really no help... I am really doing everything on my own." He sighed, but still could not take his eyes off her. He saw his buddies getting a few of the girls to join them and soon they were getting lap dances in booths as well. He didn't mind just talking to Miss Nova, she was such an awesome girl.

"Are you sure, you can always count on me for help. I mean, I don't really know anything about you, but I can help with what you let me." He smiled and placed his hand next to hers, close to her own. Still respecting the no touching rule.

She gave him an appreciative look and moved her hand to his, laying it over his reassuringly. While there were rules about not touching the dancers, that didn't mean the dancers couldn't elect to touch if they felt comfortable doing so. "Hey, it's okay. Don't worry about me- it sounds like you have enough on your plate to begin with, dealing with the jackasses who pretend to work but really don't."

Nova took another drink and tapped her glass in contemplation. It was at that moment that one of the servers came over and leaned over to her. "One of the men has requested a lap dance from you, Nova. Do you mind finishing up here before heading over? They're in the birthday chair."

She nodded and ran her fingers through her hair before giving Wyatt an apologetic smile. "Sorry, duty calls."

He chuckled. "Don't worry about them, they do there work and just leave me to mine. Believe it or not, I am there boss... the upper management put me in charge of them because I can be firm and strict when needed." He than thought about how that sounded. "You know what I mean..." He saw how she was being called to do her job and he smacked himself, he didn't even get a dance... "Oh... sure. Sorry, I didn't mean to keep you... here." He took out three one hundred dollar bills and handed it to her. The feeling of her hand on his, it was so soft and he could only imagine what she could do with them on him... But there she goes... walking away.

"Damn it..." Than another woman walked up to him and chatted him up, but Wyatt only had eyes for Miss Nova, he only wanted her attention. He shook his head and said no thanks to the woman. Wyatt went and sat at the table, drinking mountain dew and just hanging out.

Unfortunately for the two of them, Nova ended up being very busy for the rest of the night. One of the other dancers had called out, so she ended up doing her routines. When she wasn’t on the poles, several men had reserved time for lap dances. By the end of the night she headed home exhausted. She had enough groceries to last at least two weeks, so she figured she could hunker down until her ex gave up on trying to find her.

Or so she thought.

At about 2:00 pm on the fourth day of staying at home, she jumped as a loud noise startled her.

“Open the fuck up, Veronica! I’m not playing!” A tall guy banged on the apartment next to Wyatt’s loudly. While annoying, it wasn’t late at night, so it wasn’t like anyone was going to file a noise complaint.

“Come on, I said I was sorry. Why are you being such a bitch?!” Another few bangs on the door.

“Go away!” Came a distressed feminine voice from inside the door. “I told you I’m done- that was like a month ago!”

“I never agreed to break up!” He replied, trying the doorknob to find it still locked. “Come on, just talk to me! I just want to talk- is that too much to ask?!” There were another few loud bangs on the door.

Wyatt was cooking some bacon and eggs on the stove top, watching an anime, while looking over some things in his game. Yes, he was a multi-tasker. He was shifting his attention as he heard the loud voice. He looked to his door and shook his head, as he went back to doing several different things. He turned and got out some tortillas set them aside, than more shouting could be heard next door as well as banging. Wyatt turned the heat down and pushed his glasses up as he got closer to his door, he than heard his neighbor. This was concerning, he sighed as he wanted to be a hero, but he closed his eyes and went back to the kitchen to turn the fire off and set the pan to the back of the stove. He grabbed his keys and his cell phone and headed out. What was he doing?

"Umm excuse me, you are being very loud and rude. She does not wish to speak to you, so why don't you leave her alone?" Wyatt said that softly, the man turned to look at him and laughed. Ex-"Hey, It's none of your concern boy!" He banged on Veronica's door again "Hey, let me the fuck in! I just want to talk, for fucks sake!" One more bang on her door. Wyatt got closer. "Sir, I will have to ask you to leave, before I call the cops..." those were his last words as the ex just turned and threw a huge right hook and caught Wyatt unaware as he got hit in the head, his head than bouncing off Veronica's door. Lights out... luckily he had pressed the emergency button on his phone and it was letting the cops hear all his shouting at Wyatt's out cold body, there was a spat of blood on her door and neighbors all came out, seeing what was happening.

Wyatt the unsung hero... didn't even get a lap dance from Miss Nova the last time...

She heard the exchange outside, her heart clenching when she heard something thunk against her door that didn't sound like her ex's fists. When she opened the door, her ex was running down the hall to get away, trying to avoid the cops no doubt. Too bad for him that the apartment complex had many cameras, and one had likely caught the whole thing on video. Her eyes went down to the crumpled body on the floor and she rushed to kneel beside him in alarm.

"Wyatt? Wyatt! Wyatt, wake up!" Veronica's panicked voice tried to rouse him from unconsciousness, but he wouldn't stir. She dialed an ambulance on her own phone and soon they were carting him into it and asking if she wanted to come with. Without hesitation, she agreed to come and they all rode to the hospital.

When he woke up, he would find that she was sitting beside his bed, playing on her phone anxiously. She was wearing a pair of silky pink pajamas and a pair of pink slippers.

Dreams of Miss Nova filled his unconscious journey. The flirting and teasing she did to him... she was an amazing girl... had to be a Divine spirit. He just sighed as he saw her in skimpy outfits, tits almost all the way out, sexy ahego faces. Made him giggle. Than she was on him, like a predator taking its prey, only she used her ass to jerk his cock. In the hospital he moaned and said Nova more than a few times.

When he started to come to, he opened his eyes slowly, seeing blurred and unfamiliar things, but he looked to a woman sitting in a chair next to his bed. He smiled softly, Miss...Nova? Than his vision cleared and he saw it was the girl from next door. Veronika.

"Ohh... hello. What are you doing here with me? Where am I?" He had no idea he got knocked the fuck out. Than it all started to come back to him and his head throbbed and his face ached. "Oh ouch..." He looked at her and was a bit embarrassed. "Are you ok?" Was all he could say.

She had heard him calling her stage name several times when he started to move from unconsciousness to sleep. It was a bit embarrassing and flattering at the same time. Of course she knew he really enjoyed her company, Perhaps he even had a bit of a crush. Still, that was for Nova. Nova was a persona she assumed when she was working, when she was performing. She felt empowered when she was anonymous, and that allowed her to be more bold and confident.

As Veronika though... she didn't have a curly black wig, black glasses, and simply lingerie to hide behind.

When he spoke, she stared at him for a moment before letting out a little laugh. "I mean, I'm not the one who got brained against an apartment door, so I'd say I'm doing pretty good. How about you? How are you feeling?"

He smiled. "Like Ivan Drago just hit me... jeez." He swallowed. "What are you doing here?" He sat up a bit and looked around the room. He felt parched. How long was he out? "Miss Veronika, how long was I out?" He saw he had no IV so not long he guessed.

"That guy, that your type? Mean and strong... what a combo..." He smiled. "Next time I see him. I'll be sure and block..."

She chuckled weakly, "he was charming in the beginning before I realized he had a chunk of Swiss cheese where his brain should be. By that time though, he got really attached and didn't want to let things go... As for how long you've been here, it's been about an hour and a half. I came with you on the ambulance. But don't worry, I'm more than happy to pay for your hospital bills and stuff since you got hurt because of me."

To be honest, she felt more than a little guilty that he had been knocked upside the head because of her own messy drama.

He could just smile and nod at her. "I get it, it always ends up that way huh? Maybe I should take a boxing class or learn some cheat codes huh?" He chuckled and than put a hand to his head. "Ow..." He looked at her and just could not help but to admire how beautiful she was, and how caring she was. Her every word he could feel the tender care. "Did the cops catch him? Is there anyway I can get something to drink? A whiskey would be great..." He looked to her again and felt like he knows her from somewhere else. "Do you work at Sharp gaming? I mean, I know we live next to each other, but I feel like I know you from somewhere else." He chuckled. "Wouldn't it be funny if you did work at the same place as me, and we just didn't know it? I mean we live next to each other and we work together..." He laughed again and soon held his head in was in pain.
The Doctor came in and examined Wyatt, looking for signs of concussion, they stitched his head and Wyatt was like a baby, wincing in pain from the needle.

After that he was discharged and let go. He walked with Veronika out to the parking lot. "Oh, shit... I don't have my car... and you said you came with me... so we don't have a way back... and..." He looked to his phone and saw it was dead. "Of course... and don't worry about the bill. I only did what was right Miss Veronika. I have great medical insurance. But you can call a Uber or something to get us back home." His smile was so genuine as he looked to her.

She had just opened her mouth to answer his questions about her ex and whiskey when he asked about where she worked. It made sense that he would get the inkling they had met previously, especially seeing as he spent a lot of time with her at her own place of work.

“No, I don’t work at that gaming place,” she shrugged. “I like games, but I don’t really have the background for game design. I work in customer service.” While she was being intentionally vague, she definitely wasn’t lying m- she serviced customers all night long at her job.

As requested, she called them an Uber and they were soon on their way back.

When they pulled up the apartment, she rummaged around her purse (which she had hastily grabbed before leaving with him). She came up with a large roll of bills ranging from hundreds to ones, most of them being ones or fives. Having been hunkered down for the last several days, she hadn’t gotten the chance to run to the bank to deal with depositing her tip money.

She undid the rubber band and rifled through it until she found three five-dollar bills, tipping the driver for the ride before putting the rubber band back on the wad of cash and stuffing it back into her bag. It wasn’t far to the hospital, so it was a generous tip.

Veronica got out of the car and stood nearby, tucking her hair behind her ear before she asked, “they said you should rest for the next couple days, right? Do you want me to check on you in the morning? It’s the least I could do.”
