apparently this writer has delisted his work. He has/had a numer for very popular - and well-written stories. "Dunn In" was one, "The Pool House", which i am/was in the middle of reading, is another. Does anyone know him, know how to get a hold of him? know how to get him to repost his terriffic stories? THANKS!!!

If he's taken down his stories he's done so for a reason. I doubt he's going to put them back up just for you.

Perhaps he's publishing, perhaps he's just gone. Whatever the reason, he no longer wants his work to be read here on Lit. You should respect that.

writers exist because there are readers. readers exist because there are writers. its a co-existence. I was finishing the first chapter of a 4 chapter story. i clicked on chapter 2 and the work was gone. all his stuff de-listed. i should have at least had the opportunity to complete the work. sorry - but what he did was amatuerish. and for that, he hasn't earned my respect. and its too bad - Niemand 1994 is a very good writer. and a putz!

There have been writers that close their lit account and remove stories for personal reasons, one of my favorite authors did it due to very ill health and not wanting his heirs to find it.

Got to respect that. Who knows why niemand left.

Oh, stop it. Newsflash, we don't get paid here. We choose to put our work up for free to entertain people and crap like this is what we get. You can't get ripped off if you've never paid for it.

I think I know who you're talking about and at the time they pulled their work I believe they knew they were terminal. Shame, he was a good writer and a class act. Actually sent me an e-mail telling me 'you're welcome' because I moved up a spot in the top ten author list when he pulled his work.

“Opportunity to complete the work?”

How long ago did he post these stories? If it was longer than a week, you had ample “opportunity.” They’re his works, not yours.

There are plenty of other good authors on the site. I’d suggest finding a few. Then, don’t drag your feet reading their work.

No it's not a co-existence, not at all. A writer provides content, a reader reads it. That's a one-way feed.

If I as a writer choose to do something else with my content I'm under zero obligation to tell anybody what I'm doing. I might be courteous and do so, but I might also be dying, and clearing up my affairs. I might also be dead, and my family might be clearing it all up.

You don't honestly think writers are going to ask, "has everyone finished reading yet?" before they pull down their content. I don't think so.

Writers don't exist because of the readers. A lot of us write for our own reasons. But even if I were to accept the idea that "writers exist because there are readers," it certainly doesn't mean that writers are here to server your needs. That seems to be a misconception among a few Lit readers. We call them trolls.

niemand1994 of niemand_1994 (or any other variation of niemand and 1994) is no longer an active account. Not only did they pull their stories, but they closed their account as well.

I doubt that his decision has anything to do with you. Don't take it personally.

a little thin skinned

i never said - "writers are here to serve me - or readers." just that its a 2 way street. most writers like getting 5 stars - and many deserve them. I gave niemand 1994 all 5 stars. the writers here work for free - so they love what they do or there are other factors - i get that. and i love a lot of the stories here. And i tried writing a story and i wouldn't submit it it was so bad. so i know there's a lot of talented writers here. its just i liked the story and it disappeared while i was in the middle of it. so it was a let down to me. and i think a lot of these comments are pretty thinned skinned. You can go and read my comments on stories - almost all - maybe all- are positive. so i wish Niemand 1994 well. BUT- i miss the stories.

I recall Dreamcloud having stopped posting because he said someone was selling his stories on Amazon. He didn't feel like he should be providing those people with more stories for them to make an income.
He didn't pull his current stories offline though, since they were already circulating around without his permission. If they are already in other places, then why bother pulling them here?
But I could easily imagine him pulling them after his realisation that someone was making money out of his stories he had written for free here.

So yeah, plenty of reasons why one would decide to pull their stories.

Also, goduck1, if he still had an account, you could've always send him a message instead. If he has withdrawn the account, he has left permanently and you won't be able to reach him. I doubt many writers here actually visit each other in person.
