Nick Sandmann

He cashed in on a pay day. Good for him.

Guessing he'll walk around with a GoPro on from now on in the hopes of additional pay days to come.

Why do you disparage the kid? He was the victim of a nationwide smear campaign by media outlets that meant to do him harm. I doubt very seriously if he will ever have to look for a payday from anyone for the rest of his life.

I'm congratulating him for his successful ambulance-chasing. As in other cases, "justice" has a price.

He didn't chase any ambulances. The media sought him him. They stuck their cameras in his face and lied about him to the American people. What they didn't count on was that he would answer those lies with the best defamation attorney in the United States. There are still five more such suits by Nick outstanding and awaiting settlement. The object here is to recover damages, but also to restore motivation in the media for truth and prudence in their reporting.

I note that he settled, not that WaPo or CNN settled with him. Seems a lot like counsel whispering "you're not going to see anywhere near those damages, so take the cheque in front of you and call it a win".

A win to me would have been a formal public apology at the top of the CNN site/WaPo front page. I'll look for tomorrow's edition just to cover all my bases.

In the meantime, I guess he settled for the Benjamins. What a courageous fellow.

Liberals always spin it to their advantage. I’d never expect you to acknowledge RG’s point.

Whatever the amount of the settlement, the young man and his family will be spending a large portion of it on personal security to protect themselves from people of your ilk (albeit more extreme) who lapped up the incendiary and false narrative pushed by these “news” outlets. Do you feel good about that?

Did I say they settle the full amount?

From the article:

"Today I turned 18 & WaPo settled my lawsuit."

Find those people and apply the full measure of the law to them. We're a nation of laws, so why is that beyond your grasp?

RG's sole point is that MSM took it on the chin. I'll take a few minutes to peruse his prior threads about right-leaning media and their settled suits. In the interest of truth and justice of course.

From Nick's twitter:

"We have settled with WAPO and CNN.

The fight isn’t over. 2 down. 6 to go."

Yeah, so he agreed to a settlement made by the WaPo, so what. Settlements are usually accepted by both parties if there is agreement to terms offered.

What an absolute creep you are. He didn't go looking for the original confrontation, it came looking for him. He stood, respectfully, if uncomfortably, and did not rise to the bait, react, or demean the lunatic in his face.

He didn't look to be defamed and threatened, They came for him.

He showed maturity and dignity. You have none.

Yeah, until he filed to these lawsuits. He might be right, he is winning the cases and he still is a scum bag. Good people don't act this way...good people don't act the way the other side did either.

I know the type, money grubbing opportunist scum.

You misunderstand. I'm not faulting him. He took advantage of a situation not of his own making. If that's your definition of noble conduct, then good for you.

He won't need to. There were so many progressive douchebags and news organizations that piled on that kid that he could just go down the list. I think he's got four more lawsuits planned in the near term.

More pay days then. I hope he holds one or more of the remaining four to the fire for more than $ as measure of justice.

Good people speak truth to power. He and his lawyers stood up to one of the richest men on the planet and his once-great legacy paper who had the means to bury this in an avalanche of paper for years. they folded because they were wrong and caused actual, identifiable harm to another's reputation..

Torts are not just about getting paid, it is about righting wrongs and holding people accountable for their actions.

For the rest of his life people will continue to demean him and minimize his courage because of what those "news" outlets did through their gross negligence. They took a screenshot of a video that any reasonable person would see was not representative of what happened, even before the full context came out. He could have ducked, and hid out till this blew over and let that false, incendiary narrative continue to play out, but he stood up and explained what happened. Even when it was clear that that asshole in his face had deliberately baited him, he didn't lower himself to speak ill of him.

It sure sounds like you are minimizing how monumental it is to get a newspaper to pay. They have to be all kinds of wrong to lose in court.

In fact, I'm marveling over how his courage has been so effectively monetized.

There are a lot more than four on the list. If I remember correctly, his lawyers planned to sue 50+ celebs and news organizations.

Point me to your similar post about Avenetti and Daniels. Mary Trump?

There are none by me. I assume that people can identify an ambulance-chaser when they see one.

Which is why I found it odd that RG would author this thread. Perhaps he was motivated by a racial element. Or, the furtherance of the 'MSM is anti-America' narrative. Or, both. I can't say for certain. Maybe ask him?

Though, now that I think about it, I did post something about Mary Trump being a 'Trump'.
