I've just had an idea for a story, that some author might be interested in. Though it still needs some fleshing out.

The idea is basically to take the premise of the biblical story of Job, and replace the doom and gloom with eroticism.

For those who aren't familiar with the story, God and The Devil made a bet (I forget what the stakes were), on whether The Devil could make some poor guy named Job turn against God. The Devil tried to accomplish this by hurling wave after wave of hardship against Job, e.g. sent him bankrupt, killed off all his family, gave him leprosy, etc. In the end though, he didn't renounce his devotion to God and I think that he was rewarded either by having his family bought back to life, or being given a new wife by God, or something... I forget, it's been a long time since sunday school.

I was thinking of a story with the same basic premise, except with "The Devil" character using more carrot than stick. In other words, he tries to lure a guy away from his God by offering him sexy women to screw.

This might work better with an ancient greek theme, rather than a judeo-christian theme, because then you can have 2 competing Gods using all the classic sexy creatures like nymphs, sirens, hesperides, etc. as their pawns.

Clever idea! I like it. Very literary.

Maybe the dude can be a monk who has taken a vow of celibacy, and God and the Devil make their bet about whether he can be tempted to have sex. The Devil keeps sending sexier and sexier nymphs and strumpets to try to seduce him, they are getting harder and harder to resist.....
