The NFL reportedly agreed to pay out $89 million to social justice causes in hopes that players will be encouraged to stop protesting during the national anthem, sources claimed Wednesday night.

The league will pay the sum over seven years, focusing on issues important to African-American communities, ABC reported Thursday. The deal distributes 25 percent of funds to the United Negro College Fund, 25 percent to Dream Corps, and 50 percent to the Players Coalition. While the deal reportedly has no language specifically requiring players to stop protesting, league sources said they hope that will be a natural result.

Sounds like Jessie Jackson might have gotten involved with this blackmail of the NFL. Probably proffered something like, "Our black players will stand for the anthem after you pay them extra to do so by donating millions upon millions to charities of interest to the African Community." Of course, they'll try and get it back from the ever-diminishing population of fans. I predict this will further anger Americans and interest in the NFL brand of "political football" will continue to decline.:(

Players criticize N.F.L. over donation proposal

Three N.F.L. players who have been kneeling during the national anthem have questioned a tentative plan negotiated this week by the N.F.L. to donate millions of dollars to groups that aid African-American communities, calling it an effort by the league to get them to stop their protests.

Two of the players, Eric Reid of the San Francisco 49ers and Michael Thomas of the Miami Dolphins, said the proposal had been put together without their consent by the N.F.L. and the two leaders of the so-called Players Coalition: Malcolm Jenkins of the Philadelphia Eagles and former wide receiver Anquan Boldin.

In an interview Wednesday night, Reid accused the league of trying to donate money to get the players to end their protests during the national anthem, which have put the league in the cross hairs of the president and fans who have accused the league and players of being unpatriotic. “It’s apparent the N.F.L. is trying to buy an end to the protests,” Reid said.

Reid and Thomas, who have been kneeling during the anthem to protest social injustice and police brutality, said on Twitter that they had left that coalition, a group of players that has worked to support social justice causes, because Jenkins and Boldin “can no longer speak on our behalf as we don’t believe the coalition’s beliefs are in our best interests as a whole.”

Where's the racist tribal love out of these "I became a poor black man multi-millionaire in the racist white man's NFL" for their communist Black Lives Matter of LA bros?

Where's your mouth on this, comrade Colin? Ready to proudly come fully out of your communist closet, yet?

What about it, poor, oppressed, black man multi-millionarie NFLers? You wannabe social justice wankers so much, here's the perfect opportunity to show all America you're not ALL just affirmative action posers.

Back-up your bullshit with an actual action that can't even feasibly be more powerful:

All black NFL players must refuse to play in all December 2017 NFL games to stand in proud tribal unity with their communist bros in Black Lives Matter, who are "calling for holiday shoppers to spend their money at black-owned businesses in a push for a “black Christmas” that aims to resist white supremacy through capitalism."

Can't get much more "white supremacy" "capitalist" than the NFL, right poor black man multi-millionaire NFL player? So where do your principles stand, actually?

Is there possibly any better way to really show your true black communist colors? Or, are you now going to stand-up simply because those white supremacy capitalist NFL owners bought your "principles" with a measly hundred million racist table scrap?

Yeah, that's what I thought, wannabes: mere bling over actual substance every player time.

Black Lives Matter Wants to Bring Down White Capitalism With 'Black Christmas'

Group leaders say it’s time for people to “resist white capitalism” and divest from businesses that contribute to racial inequality. Melina Abdullah, a BLM leader who is a professor at California State University, Los Angeles (CSU-LA), is encouraging shoppers to use their money to support economic empowerment for minorities.

“We say ‘white capitalism’ because it’s important that we understand that the economic system and the racial structures are connected,” said Abdullah during her weekly radio show, Beautiful Struggle. “We have to not only disrupt the systems of policing that literally kill our people, but we have to disrupt the white supremacist, capitalistic, patriarchal, heteronormative system that is really the root cause of these police killings.”

“Black Lives Matter and other organizations build a strong critique and understanding of racism and white supremacy and sexism and homophobia, transphobia, but we have to have as much hatred or vitriol against capitalism,” said Ratcliff. “Until we start to see capitalism [is] just as nefarious as white supremacy, we will always be struggling.”

It's not going to help with attendance or ratings. The NFL committed itself to a slow agonizing decline by not enforcing it's own rules.

Nobody does a shakedown better than Al Sharpton

Speaking of spines, if Roger Goodell had one last year when Colin Kaepernick took a knee the first time all this would be forgotten.
Instead, NFL profits are down by millions this year, empty seats are in stadiums where teams are accustomed to capacity crowds, and TV ratings are tumbling.

Obviously, there is nothing wrong with charitable causes, but doing it like this, doing it trying to, quite literally, buy off someone's American's rights is despicable. These players have every right to protest and quite frankly I can't see what all the bitching is about. They have every right to protest. This is suppose to be a free country (I thought.) If I were one of these guys, I would not be bought off.

I agree they have the right to protest, but their employers also have the right to establish rules of conduct.
The important thing to remember is that the NFL is in the entertainment business, and it's not smart for the entertainers to piss off a big share of the paying customers.
