Often overlooked in Top 50 lists, I propose that The Twilight Zone is one of the greatest television shows of all time.
My 5 Favorite Episodes in no particular order
The Two--Elizabeth Montgomery and Charles Bronson as two soldiers from opposite fronts in a post-war world where people are scarce. Very little dialogue. As the end monoglue goes, a love story.
Number 12 Looks Just Like You--In a society where one must look like a small number of facial designs, a young woman fights against her fate, choosing individuality instead of conformity. She is eventually cowed into getting the change, and loses herself in the process.
The Lonely--A man imprisoned on an asteroid for a number of years is given a female robot companion, who he grows to love. When his time is up, the man picking him up is forced to shoot her to 'death' since she cannot be brought back. Can robots love?
A Stop at Willoughby--A man who hates his job and his shrew-wife falls asleep each night on the train, dreaming of a quaint, quiet, late 1800's town named Willoughby. Each time the train 'stops' there in his dream, he nearly exits. The final time, he does, but in reality, he jumps to his death. But he goes to heaven, otherwise known as Willoughby.
Probe 7- Over and Out--A male astronaut stranded on a strange new planet encounters a female astronaut, also stranded and from another planet. After the initial scuffles, the two fall in love, determined to make it a home. His name? Adam. Hers? Eve.
