When people think of the Mob-they think a life of luxury, high end cars, suits, and girls. The Logan family was much like that. DiGregorio Logan built the City up since the times of Capone. Everyone was in his pocket. The Mayor was merely a figurehead. That didn't mean he was the kind that would slit throats and shoot up the place if he didn't get his way. No. He was sick of the violence. The bloodletting. He thought that every bullet fired one way would be returned. One day it would miss you, only to hit your loved ones. In the endless street wars, no one was safe. DiGregorio Logan sought to put an end to it by using other means.
While his business was, indeed, a mafia that he was running, it was one that was designed for the greater good. To weed out corruption, get rid of the drugs, clamp down on violence by helping those in need. It wasn't an easy fix. It took years, decades. Eventually it started to show some results. Instead of arresting people for simple possession and throwing them away to languish in prison for 5 years, the Logan family used their money to build treatment centers. Instead of pushing the homeless into the tunnels and the alleyways to stay out of sight, he created shelters and put them to work for the city cleaning it. The Godfather was truly a father that he cared about those under his charge. That included his blood family.
Mrs. Dahlia Wallis died when she was young from cancer. It was a blow that struck DiGregorio hard. So hard that he had not dated or ventured out with another woman since. Many harlots had tried to. What stopped them were his sons; Bruce and Robert.
The Godfather loved his sons. When their mother passed away he dotted on them. Growing up the two were inseparable. When they came of age, the two started on their own paths.
Bruce Logan was the very definition of speed. Only driving the fastest cars, he gathered speeding tickets like he gathered women. He was also muscle, someone his father could rely on to represent the Family when Father was not available. There were many meetings carried out in skyscraper lofts by Bruce. If someone was unwilling to budge, Bruce was not afraid to get his hands dirty with threats and violence. The real problem were the drug gangs that poison the people. The Logan family ordered them to stop and when they refused, Bruce held a meeting and in that meeting he beat one dealer to death with a baseball bat. Those left were ordered to leave town and never come back. They did.
If the time came, it would look like Bruce would be the one to be next in line to lead the family. However, Bruce had a real problem with another form of addiction, women. He was the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome with slicked back black hair, squared jaw, ice blue eyes, a strong physique, a real charmer. While the family had their hands in every pocket in the city, Bruce had his dick in every woman. In order to stay on top of police investigations, the family bribed several officers to serve as informants. Well, one day Bruce banged one of the informants, a petite rookie officer who then flapped her gums a bit too much to the wrong people. Father nearly had a heart attack.
Robert was almost the opposite of his brother. Younger by two years, he went to Harvard and graduated at 20. He was thin, humble, meek, very quiet. Often he blended into the background at functions. A man who never had a girlfriend, much less been with a woman, Robert was still dabbling in the Family business by working the books. He was excellent in numbers, finding discrepancies and also finding who was skimming from the top. Highly intelligent, he lacked the muscle and fortitude of Bruce to use force when necessary.
The question came, which of them would be next in line?
