The new immunity thread has been put up!

Immunity threads will be done on a monthly basis rather than weekly. You can still pick a number and run with it, but instead of a new thread every week, it'll be a new thread every month. That should keep things manageable, yet prevent forgetful noodles like myself from shortchanging people by forgetting. I have my phone programmed to cluck at me when I'm s'posed to start one! The immunity thread will have more details on how all of this is supposed to work.


Feel free to rabblerouse and discuss away. Insults are welcome, but in the spirit of good fun, if you please.

OMG! There are so many threads and I've been reading all and I am not sure I am supposed to be writing my query in this one but since its mentioned here... phew!

Dear KM,

Please explain the immunity thingie once more. How can the threads be posted on a monthly basis? Does that mean we will have 12 immunities to compete for?

OR

Do you mean you will post immunities of four weeks in one thread at one time? Then how are the contestants supposed to put up their immunities in their score threads within the week?

OR

The weekly immunity will be in the same old thread for the month and we'll have to scroll and scroll to find it. If so, how does it matter if it's the same thread or the new one?

Immunity threads don't get a lot of traffic/posting. Some, but not a ton.

There will be a weekly immunity, it will happen just as it always has, it's just going to be done with one monthly thread. That way I don't have to copy and paste the same thing over'n over. Just sort of over'n over and I can sticky the thread without a big mess.

Everyone will have their own thread to track their scores this year, so immunity threads can get lost in the mess.

But will there be a link to where we can see the numbers posted? Or will we read them in the monthly post, and then claim or immunities from three weeks ago?

Hey Muffin is there a specific date that you will be updating them so nosey nibs like myself won't bother you all month long?

I try to update the scoreboard as I get numbers from people.

It's really not that hard for me to pop open a new window and update the thing, so I try to do it immediately rather than wait. Waiting is bad because "later" usually means "months down the road".

I was looking around on this for a thread to talk about this contest like we had for the Earth Day one and couldnt find one so I figured I would jack this one...

How is everyone doing?

Is the contest harder/easier then you thought?

Are you having a hard/easy time of writing stories for each of the categories?

What category is the most challenging for you?

Where did you use your immunity if you received one?

How many immunities would you actually use before you decided that using anymore would be detrimental to your score?

Oh well, I went into it knowing what it was... my goal is to write as much as I can and entered just for the motivation factor, not to win.

Are you having a hard/easy time of writing stories for each of the categories?

I've been okay until now. Of course I've managed to do pathetic little.

What category is the most challenging for you?

Errr... I've not come to the challenging ones yet.

Where did you use your immunity if you received one?

Received two. Used them for Audio story and Essays and Reviews.

How many immunities would you actually use before you decided that using anymore would be detrimental to your score?

Hehehe... I think I'll use all I can get... but that's what I think NOW. Who knows about later.

What category is the most challenging for you? When I get there, it will be Incest, Gay Male, and Crossdressers

Where did you use your immunity if you received one? So far I have won two. I used the first in How To (I don't have any wisdom to share) and the second on Non-English.

How many immunities would you actually use before you decided that using anymore would be detrimental to your score? I would probably only use enough to cover my *uncomfortable* catelgories. Then I would stop.

Yes nailing down some of these categories is proving to be tough

The categories I'm into were easy, the ones I've never had an interest in are proving to be tougher

Origionally I thought just one, now as I'm having trouble I think I want more

Not too bad, I think. Went for a while without writing much, but I'm making a comeback.

I realize just how many categories there are now...but I like having to think in different areas.

I have a more difficult time sticking within one category or figuring which one to place a story in.

What category is the most challenging for you?

I haven't run up against the tough ones yet, so we'll see.

No immunities as of yet, I think I'll use the first on Non-English.

I have PMed Laurel a few times now asking if she could come over and help set up new scorecards and the like for the new people and to move our immunity thread along some but have not received any replies to the few PMs I sent to her.

I pmed Laurel expressing the fact that even though I am sure that KM has a valid reason for being absent, we really need a new moderator.

She replied and said if anyone was interested in taking over the moderator's position to send her a pm. So, if any of you want to take it over or know someone who would do it who would be dependable, contact Laurel.

I don't know how many contestants were in the previous contests but it would appear that we have amassed a very large pool of talent. Thanks for making this a great contest guy's.

A couple of us have already surpassed the number of points garnered by last years winner. (212) Jim I believe your in the lead though I keep losing track of your points when I try to count them. I'm coming for ya :-]

For those of you who just joined us, take all the advantage of the bonus system that you can. It will really level the playing field in the end.

At the end of the year I'm really looking forward to being able to say I was in the 2004 contest and wow was it grand.
