I've just approved a batch of stories, starting with the top of the queue. There is a large backlog of about 721 stories, so even with four new moderators, it will take some time to get through them. Please have patience.

My goal is to spend 15-30 minutes a day approving stories, until the backlog is emptied. Then I'll approve things once a week or so. Hopefully within a couple of months, we can have the hopper empty.

So, far there was only one story I rejected, because it had no content. I also deleted those empty stories of goldfinger's that had the screwed up repeated Introduction threads.

Thank you, Manu, for giving me this opportunity to serve the community.

I am currently working on the reported threads, which isn't that many. Then when i am done with them i will work on approving stories. I am probably going to spend quite amount of time and try to get at least half of them approved. Hopefully one of the moderators, torg, ofhabit, or jakelyon, knows the other languages, if not we need someone does to approve them :)

So my questions are who is going to approve the foreign language stories?

Also how do I get to my stuff? All I see is the moderator stuff when I log in?

Are we going to set some standards? Must a story be well written, contain good hooks, be free of obvious grammar and spelling issues? Will you approve opening that are 100 or 200 words long?

I think we should have some discussion, and it should be public, to settle some of these issues.

On the stories page for moderators, click on the 'read' link for one of the stories. This puts you on the entry page for that story, and the links at the top are the usual writer links.

I've been approving stories as long as they have content and meet the requirements of no underage and no bestiality. I'm not going to edit stories for grammar, spelling, etc. Too many stories, too little time.

I also got to wondering if we should reject anything older than 60 days if we don't know for sure the author is active. That way we won't be creating more deadwood on the site.

If we reject them as being over sixty days and invite the author to resubmit it might save everyone's time and make for a better site.

Another thought should we sign any denials with our names so they know who to contact with questions, or scathing feedback, or whatever? I think this is more crucial if we do not follow the same standards of approval.

I see with multiple reviewers, certains stories could potentially be passed over by some while accepted by others. It's quite a dilemna. I don't have any solution to it personally, maybe setting a minimum content level (Like one paragraph with so many lines in it), making sure the story makes sense i.e. there actually is something going on and as long as it doesn't break any of the literotica rules it can be oked. If there are any stories a single mod isn't sure about, he could always refer it to another mod for their opinion.

Say, now that new stories are being approved again, do you think we should contact some of our old authors who have been MIA? Maybe the renewed contact would be enough to get them going again on stories...

I think communication is the best way to go about this. If a writer knows why the story wasn't approved and who to go to for answers, that writer has the opportunity, if desired, to improve their work.

I usually tell them the reason I did it and tell them to resumbit. I also usually copy and paste the story to word perfect to spell check and then put it into the story with the corrections. I have only rejected a handful, one or two had underage sex and some had nothing in it. Now i have a question, if it has minors in the story but they do not engage in sexual avtivities, is it allowed? And about the "Another thought should we sign any denials with our names so they know who to contact with questions, or scathing feedback, or whatever" thing, i think it would be a good idea to just put the chyoo feedback webpage in the denial thing. So they can do it there, in front of all the mods.

I don't see a problem with minors in the story as long as they are not party to any sexual activity (not even seeing it).

I have written stories on Chyoo that have children in them, but they are asleep in another room. I don't think that rises to the level of underage sex.

I've gone through the reported threads list and cleaned out a bunch of stuff, mostly duplicated or empty threads and a couple underage stories and threads. Most of the rest of the reported threads are in German.

I noticed a common misunderstanding about the use of the Report Thread function. Many used it to comment positively on a thread, not report problem threads. Perhaps if we had some kind of FAQ document or instructions on the Chyoo site, these problems would be reduced.

Yea I saw a lot of comments that were blank or were actually comments to the writer of the thread. That's what that language is, German?

Ja!

Yes, I saw that too. In fact, that was what I first used the Report Thread form for, until I noticed the "Problem to Report" header.

Wow! Almost 200 threads have been approved! I looks like my estimate of a month or two is WAY too high. More like a day or three.

How long can I have her? :) Yea, I get through them pretty fast. I am denying alot that haven't been modified in a while. Well since I have gone through so many, I am just writing this:
Fix spelling and grammar then resubmit :)
Any questions or comments, go to https://forum.literotica.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21
Just to see if they still want the story on chyoo and if they are active or not.
I was just thinking that once we get up to date on the story's, we (the moderators) could pm eachother and discuss it before we approve or deny.
Also i was thinking that we should go around and look at the stories where the writer hasn't approved the threads and appoint new writers for them. Of course before we do appoint new ones, we would try to get in touch with the old ones first. What do you think? :)

It looks like Manu has added a link on the moderator's header to get directly to your member's page, and visa versa.

Thanks, Manu!

Well, it looks like we've eliminated the backlog with the exception of foreign language stories (they're not all German -- I saw at least a few in French).

Woo hoo!

I believe some are dutch and russian too. I saw one that is one of the asian languages. Not sure which one though.

Oh, and one nice thing is that the empty story at the top of the "Top 5 Rated Stories" is gone. Yeah!

Now, I encourage people to use the Report Thread link for the following reasons:

1) Disallowed material: underage or bestiality stories.
2) Threads that need deletion.
3) Stories that need deletion.

This is the best way to communicate these needs to the moderators. It actually puts a link to the appropriate thread in the queue.

Thanks.

First, I want to say great job guys.

Second, I have a suggestion. I noticed that Twiztedclown has added "New Chyoo Moderator" to his signature. Maybe you guys could add that into your sigs and perhaps in your profiles or something. Would help other know who the mods are.

Also, can somebody change the opening message on the Chyoo Home page? As it still states that chyoo is back last year. Perhaps you could stick your names in there and welcome to chyoo... something. Ya know.

Oh, one more thing... when I originally signed up for chyoo I had the option of signing up for the e-mail news letter. Any thoughts on it's future?

One more thing... did you new mods see my post on Logos?
