I posted this pic in the blurt thread, but I just gotta make sure I show it to everyone. :)

These....people, for lack of a better word, had a puppy they didn't want, and had stated to me that they were either just going to take her out in the country some where and drop her off (and let her starve, or get hit by a car), or they just might shoot her instead...save the gas.

I can't repeat what I said, but I was nose to nose with a guy about three times my size, and I ended up bringing the puppy home, even though my husband definitely did not want another dog. Tough titty - I wasn't going to let those assholes do that to this gorgeous, sweet-tempered doll baby.

Meet Bella - I'm guessing she's somewhere around two or three months old, and she's gonna be a rather large girl when she's full grown because she's already just a few inches shorter than Marley, my pit/lab mix.

Can you believe they were going to just throw this sweetheart away? Bunch of ignorant dickheads...

Trying to decide whether I see Mastiff, Dane or both...

She's a cutie-pie, allrighty. Darn lucky you were there to rescue her.

The way some people treat animals turns my stomach.

She's a beauty and will probably turn into loyal friend. Good luck with her.

Gonna grow up to be a 95 lb. lap dog . . .

And imagine the reception anyone trying to break into your house or bother Spidey might get from both of them!

Cloudy, you are my hero of the month! Your medal:

She's sweet and beautiful (perfect name!), and I'm betting she already loves and adores her mom. A little training and in a year, you'll be able to take her back to those people and say, "Kill!' (and then, when she's done you can pat her on the head and say, "good dog!") :D

gosh
shouldn't have called her lucky or fluke or miracle haha'
gorgeoous

Looks like my dog could be related, lol. Same coloring. I was told lab/pit bull mix by the vet but I see little bits of other things at different times. She was found wandering around a town about ten years ago and was overdue for the shelter to put her down when I got her. She's very sweet and adores almost all people and animals. (There have only been one person and one other dog I've ever heard her growl at.)

She's beautiful, such a soft look in her eyes . Thank you for taking her away and keeping safe :rose:

Why don't you take Bella's former owner to the country and drop him of? On the other hand, you may want to save the gas... :)

Well done, Cloud Warrior. :rose:

I hope that haunted look in her eyes is gone soon, once she feels safe.

That pic was taken first thing yesterday morning, when everything was still very new and unknown to her, and Marley was pestering the shit out of her wanting to play.

This morning she's bouncing instead of walking, and her tail hasn't stopped wagging. She's discovered that if she gets both of her paws over Marley's back, she can just sort of let Marley carry her around. They're really fun to watch: Marley keeps bringing Bella a toy, and then they play keep away.

I'm really, really glad I was in the right place at the right time, but I'm also really pleased with the happiness in Marley's eyes. Her best friend (the dog that lived in the house behind us), got out and got hit and killed by a car about a month ago, and for the past month, all she's done is sit by the fence and look for Trooper.

It's good all around: Bella has a loving home, and Marley doesn't have to be by herself when one of us isn't out there. :)

Very nice. :rose:

(Hey - post more pics!!)

I've studied human conflict around the world, and brutality never surprises me, and I know people do horrible things to each other, but how can you look in those eyes and say I'm going to do harm....

Cloudy you saved a life that day from needless ill treatment. I'm sure Bella will always be grateful to you. I've found dogs have a way of knowing. I have friends with a rescue who loves them to death and loves their children. She's playful and plays with all the pets and kids in the neighborhood. Couldn't imagine the world without a dog like that. I hope Bella brings you the same joy and your husband one day has a moment where he can't see life without her.

Thank you Cloudy. She is a beauty. Such gentle eyes.

People is the wrong word for those monsters who would have harmed her. Can I take them out back and dispose of them like they were going to do to Bella. *Love the name too*

WTF, Cloudy? What is WRONG with these people? How can anybody just do that? I've NEVER understood how anybody can even think of abandoning or killing a pet they didn't want. That makes me so angry I can't even say! I'm glad she ended up with someone who'll love her.

She's so cute...thanks for the pic. :)
