Newby too (feedback please)

Hi, I entered my first story around March, have had some positive feedback, well all of it was, but not sure that any of the readers were authors. I really would be interested in hearing authors comments as I would really like to improve.

I am not fully au fait with all the technicalities of the site as yet, so don't really understand how the voting works. I have 90 votes I think, is that good or bad.

I liked your story -- very nice, dreamy little fantasy, and I've always liked the whole pretend-sleep angle. Nicely done.

And 90 votes is fairly high. The number of votes depends to a large extent on the category and the number of reads -- ratios differ by author, probably, but I think the norm is something like one vote for every 100-200 reads, with lots of fluctuation. I have stories with only 20 votes, and stories with several hundred.

Welcome to Lit and congrats on the story!

p.s. You could write a similar story in which the whole class explores the sleeping teacher, and I think you'd find that to be very popular with readers, as well.

I'll shall have to think about the inclusion of the whole class on my next one, actually I've been struggling with where to take the characters in a part two episode. So thought I might just start a whole new story instead.

Very nice story ginge. Like Sarah I too enjoy pretend sleep stories but I never would have found this because I very rarely look at first time stories. Glad I did.
