I have to say that with close to 600 posts I do not consider myself to be a newbie. I have to say that I no longer automatically respect people with a high post count. from recent experiance I have seen just how easy it is to achieve this.

There are people with a lot of post who display a disrespect for the boards this could be ignorance (still being a newbie) or arogence, with is just rude.

So what is the measure of newbie v oldie, i believe that newbie have yet to earn the respect of their fellow poster. I would hope that have earned that respect to some degree.

Well this is just my mind wondering because of a post made by Siren, do not like the thought that people would distrust me or have no respect for me based on simply being a newbie.

Thats it ..No More...

They are all treated the same by me (I hope). But I am more likely to give more of me in an answer if the person has 50 or more posts under their name or have been around for a while.

It takes a few post from a person to get to know them slightly and what jokes you can throw at them....

Just because a person might have a few hundred post does not mean they are experianced at anything except pushing a post button.

Respect is earnt not given... :)

I agree whole heartedly and I won't repeat what i said there, don't want to beat a dead horse.............................well maybe i do, damn it the Dr. had me so confused:p

They are an oldies if I know them well.
They are a newbie if I have no idea who they are. Then again, a few days again I spoke to someone with 2000+ posts who had been here for over a year and I had no idea who they were.

Maybe I'm not the best measurement.

Good question. I don't know. I think I'm a tween...

I do not like the thought that people would distrust me or have no respect for me based on simply being a newbie.

Same here.

Mike,
I haven't been here that long either, and i have seen tho, cases where a newbie will come on the boards and just go off on random people for no reason or post ignorance just to readh 100, and unfortunatly it ruins the whole thing for the newbies that aren't childish like that. Like i have said over the past few days about this little "war" between boards..i came to lit to meet people and have a great time, and if people want to stand in my way of doing that i ignore them, and move right along to what i came here for. There's enough bullshit in the real world, who the hell needs it in cyber space? I know i sure as hell don't.
The few times i've come to the gb, i've never had a problem..i dunno i guess i can't relate to the whole newbie vs oldie thing..i speak to whom i speak with..some people have been here for years some only months like i have. I guess if someone wants to bash me for being new, then so be it..if no one wants to take the time to get to know that i'm not just some shit talking newbie..well then so be it..not my problem.
I come here to have fun, meet some new people and post, and have a great time doing so.
I hope to meet more of you over here, and if i don't..oh well..i tried to, it sucks some newbie had to fuck it up for me:rolleyes:

Have a great AM everyone!:)

Its a little sad that a few individuals can really fuck with peoples mids so much that they create an aura of mistrust. I am happy that most people know me enuf to trust me (I hope) I really am a newbie compared to the prolific posters. Oh well a tag is a tag, when I get to 1,000 post my title will be Newbie Still.
