Welcome and "Hi there." New faces are always welcomed. After four years of messing around in here, it's still easy to feel like a newbie. I think you'll find all the expected forum rats around here calling each other names and making references to past slights that still sting. Best suggestion? If it looks like a pile of shit and smells like a pile of shit, it's probably a pile of shit. Don't step in it unless you don't mind a bit of stink.

Still, in between the in-fighting, you're sure to find some lively discussions about writing, story ideas, and lamenting about a Muse or two who doesn't want to play nice with their owner.

So find a thread that looks interesting, make a comment, and see what happens. Before long, you might even start your own thread with your question or comment.

Oh, and in general, I wouldn't hesitate to use the PM (private message) feature as a way to get to know someone. Most of us welcome PMs (including the site owners) and if you're not careful, you might find a kindred spirit or two haunting this place. Have fun, get posting, and keep writing!
