I know we haven't overcome Christmas yet...

But honestly New Years has always been a bigger deal for me.

Was just curious as to what people had planned for it?
Is it bigger than Christmas for you too?

I'd honestly love to go ice skating with my man during the day, and spend the rest of the night drinking and eating junk food until midnight.
For the past 5 years (this coming New Years makes it 6), he has been my midnight kiss.
So I definitely don't want to break tradition :)

Also, my resolutions are as follows:

Follow my damn budget for once (no more impulse shopping).
Work on my patience with adults.
Volunteer for at least 5 different agencies.

New Years Resolution: I've got the stellar idea and I've put in enough work already to make backing out now seem like I've been wasting my time. It's time. Going to get this one published. No matter the work it takes to put into it the rest of the way.

That seems a bit ambitious and logistically difficult.

Not sure what that looks like, but wouldn't giving the time that you have to one worthy agency put what time you have to more productive use?

Maybe more agencies gives you an opportunity to rub elbows with more volunteers?

I want to network more, meet different people.

Realistically it may only be 2-3 agencies.

I have 2 already in mind from past volunteering, but want to put some work into some of my passions.
My sister is a diabetic. And every year I procrastinate doing their annual walkathon/marathon. I donate-just never participate.
Also same follows for the Breast Cancer foundation.

So in 2015 I hope to participate in both- not just provide monetary support.

All the best for 2015!

Published? A book? I'd like to know more about that.

Yes, a post-apocalyptic erotic novel. Porn with plot, you know, have the characters dealing with horror/actiony things in between the raunchy, very graphic sex scenes. It will be my first and the idea may have been done to death but not my way and not with the characters I've made. The goal right now is to put something in print.

Everything about that-yes. :)
Would love to read it when it's finished! :)

New Years is definitely a bigger deal to me. I spend it with friends and family. Getting fucked up and having a good time.

My New Years resolution.

Find my path.
Make peace with my kids mothers.
And hopefully get a stable girl in my life.

I thought that might be the point to the goal. I do think that is a good way to meet great people.

Since you are talking specific, one time annual events that seems very do-able. I had this image of you rushing from soup kitchen to soup kitchen.

I hope all of that works out for you.
And for your children's sakes, I hope each mother realizes your value and they move past any hindering drama that they have with you and focus on the children...

As for the last one, even if it doesn't happen this year-I'm sure it'll happen. Those kinds of things take time. I dated/screwed a lot of asshole and pricks to get my prince charming. (And at times, he can be an ass, but he's my ass and I wouldn't have it any other way).

Lmao. I would love to help the homeless-but more so the children.
Maybe it's just the educator in me. But I truly feel no child under 18 should be subjected to the harsh life on the streets. (Not saying anyone older than that should either)...

Soup kitchens are fun. I already donated tons of goodies this year for them, but didn't get a chance to run one this year, so next year it will be a pleasant experience.

Also, Q, what will your contributions/resolutions be?

Or will you be far too focused on my sexy little self running from soup kitchen to soup kitchen to be engulfed in your own resolutions? ;)

I just want someone who makes me want to become a better me. Someone I actually like. I'm getting tired of pointless fucks (not really). But something more stable I will welcome. As far with my kids mothers, in due time I think we will see eye to eye.

Start with college, genius. And a proper job. You're speaking like your issues can't be fixed. Drop the perks and pick up a book.

My resolutions are...

To live more authentically, and
To give up slow-cooked baby alpaca.

:)

I've kept exactly four resolutions in my life. Not sure if I'm up for a fifth one.

  • 2000: Wear a seatbelt. Believe it or not, the first 25 years of driving I never wore a seatbelt. I always wear one now. Yay me, right?
  • 2007: Public Speaking. Joined Toastmasters public speaking and rose to Distinguished Toastmaster status in 2012.
  • 2012: Thinner. Began three year body makeover plan. Achieved 9 of 10 goals so far.
  • 2014: Recycle. Got serious into recycling just about everything. My Vettetrash (garbage with no value/use) is negligible!

I'm ready for my next big challenge.

What do perks and books have to do with what I said?

What the fuck are you talking about? You keep bitching about how you want to be better but you're currently adding onto to the shitty state you claim you're tired of. And you said fuck the march. Niggaz like you are the ones everyone has to march for anyway.

I've been making toast for 45 years. I don't know if I'm a master at it or not though

Okay that deserved a good laugh out loud!
But, BDS, your goals are good goals. And I hope you keep working on them.

I don't smoke, and I would think I'm in fairly good shape to avoid a gym membership so I can cross out the two typical resolutions.
Mine are more family-oriented.

I once lost a state-finals humorous speaking contest to a guy who looked and sounded like Desi Arnaz (i.e. "Lootsie!") His speech was about joining Toastmasters thinking he'd learn how to cook. Ay yi yi.

In all fairness, it was one of the few times I've lost a contest where I honestly felt like someone had better material than me.

That is awful. Must you use that word? You are sinking lower and lower.
